Good Luck.

NO NO NO..... walk in in person. Look for the New car sales manager AND the General Manager. Talk to them in person. DO NOT let your fingers do the walking. Even if they tell you someone else is "ON THE LIST", get off your butt, do down there and show them you are REAL. Someone on "the list" may have been a salesmans friend. The GenL mgr just might override any "LIST" by asking the new car manager for details on who made the list, how it was made, etc etc.. The warm bodies with eye contact and handshakes... oh and getting on your knees and begging....... DO WORK. Ask yourself.... have you dont everything you CAN DO to make your dream come true? Can they see the sincerity in your eyes over the phone? I took my laptop with me. Did you know some of the salespeople and others in charge at 7pm may not have seen the Dealer Reference manual? Mine had not. I opened it up right on their desk. I traveled out of state last night. I left my house at 4:45 (and got to the out of state dealer at 7:30pm) after finding all my local dealers had all their cars "spoken for"... pissed me off because there had been promises. I went to GM's website, located dealers, and called over 15 til I found ONE who had 4 allocated and only 1 spoken for. They informed me they had had phone calls but were only going to respond to REAL, IN PERSON, requests. Needless to say, I DROVE MY AS& OFF last night, and I feel better today. FYI, I was also told I could get it AT COST. Not kidding. My message here is not to brag or anything but to help you FOCUS on your method to secure this car if you want it. Yes, you have to make calls to start with, but PROBE the reality of thier LIST. The sincerity of those on the LIST. Worst case scenario, make yourself a FIRST ALTERNATE because once price is announced there will surely be some who drop out.

But get on the LIST by being IN PERSON if possible. When I read your posts, I wonder how much real EFFORT some put into REACHING THE GOAL?

OK. Sorry for carrying on so long. I won't really know what is happening to my order until the FAT LADY SINGS, anyway. So my method may ultimately prove fruitless. But, I can respectfully tell myself I did all I could do and will have no regrets. If it doesn't happen, so be it. NEXT....

Finally got a return call from my salesman this morning. Said he hasn't returned my calls because they haven't gotten any word on how many allocations they're getting? Could that be possible? Just doesn't seem likely to me...

He's a young rich kid whose parents are supposedly buying him whatever he wants. I doubt he'll care about being careful since it isn't his money.

GO IN >>> IN PERSON. Talk to the Owner or GenL Mgr. All other efforts probably giving too much faith in your "salesperson"

You DESERVE this car. I hope it all works out for you.

My thoughts,
MSRP is exactly that. It is a suggested price. Dealers give us buyers deals below invoice all the time because of market value. I can't blame tham for doing the same for the ZL1 in the reverse direction, because its the new hot car on the market and people are going to pay a mark-up. The bottom line is that it's a business. If they decide earning your loyalty is more important than a mark-up, that's fine. But reallistically, they prob aren't worried about loyalty too much. Most people keep their cars for a long time, especially people planning to buy THIS car.

For those that want this car, persevere like the guy below. If you put in the work you will find the right car at the right price.

Personlly, I wouldn't pay a mark-up but rationally I understand the reasoning. I guess that's because I'm not in the market for this car and didn't just have my heart broken. Good luck guys. This car is awesome and will be worth th wait for sure.

interesting read. Its a toss-up for this and the Panamera Turbo S. But still interesting nonetheless. I thought Porsche had a great reputation for being a superior, daily-driveable supercar?

This means absolutely squat too.
Drove to a dealer today, and sure enough I asked if they had any spots.
The looked and low and behold they had ONE!
I asked them how much do they normally charge when they order a car and they said they never charge anything at all as they do not let to get caught up in refunding deposits when people walk out.
Cool with me.
I handed them $500 for the spot.
Nope. Can't take it and would not sell me the car.
The one allocated car is going to the owner of the dealership.
