Elite Engineering or RX... The only reason I picked Elite over RX is I like having the ability to take it apart and clean it.

Mike Norris is a vendor on here & has a real nice can too. I've got one on my Vette and the RX on my Camaro.

I am going to get to meet Mike face to face, I will be getting a VMAX TB through him, once I can schedule a road trip to Indy!

Isn't your MAF up by the filter box?

What is the little sensor at the left front of the manifold?

Well, since you already have the manifold off, cleaning will be easy. I'd spray the hell out of it with simple green and grab an old toothbrush to get the stubborn stuff. Then thoroughly rinse. Let dry before reinstalling.
Even more than it looks, the manifold is now vertical draining into a container, will check tomorrow to see how much comes out.

I will be going with one of these.

So, now the bigger question/observation. If the oil is getting burned off why is there so much inside the inrake manifold, that didn't show up the last time i shut off my engine. Further is it affecting airflow by having those puddles in there?

Sick just insane! Great pic's!!! Seen oil in the intake when we put the TB on, also was on the TB blade. The hoses where wrong on the can here, has over 400 miles sine switched the hoses around. Can has been on the car over a year. I like telling people that a Erie Pa shop screwed up the hoses on my Dads!!

nope, i'd just like someone to take a similar picture from their engine with the same miles and having a catch can installed. is that too hard to ask? i haven't seen it done yet. criticize me all you want, it's an extremely fair question. i'm not even saying that a catch can is worthless, just that i would like to see the physical evidence vs. all the literary responses, know what i mean?

No offense, just joshing you. but seems to be alot of pics here and on your thread showing tons of oil.You should have seen my 98 before I cleaned it out with seafoam. Between the oil and fuel deposit build up it poured out smoke while being cleaned as it should. It can also dilute the air/fuel charge and pull timing. My v6 had quite a bit also in the intake. As has been said trade the car in normally no one notices. Keep like I do and it will matter, and I want it to last. I think GM saying it doesnt matter is they figure most people trade in and never no whats going on anyway.
