Thanks for all of the responses guys... guess I'll just double-check with my dealer, and tell him not to worry about it if it's not topped off from the factory.

Still wondering about the warning light though... man I really loved that, and I can't believe it's not on my 6-years-newer car, and possibly not on the Camaro :(

Actually, Gasoline is not explosive just flammable, and in reality it would be SAFER to ship cars with a full tank, the reason is is that gasoline does become explosive in a gaseous state, and when you have a nearly empty gas tank its filled with gas fumes that ARE explosive.

More than likely they don't want to ship cars with an expensive commodity like fuel, thats also easy to add, and expected by owners.

I love Rain-X washer fluid too. Now they have the 2-in-1 Rain-X for people who don't use it up quickly so they can get the bug wash version AND the de-icer version in one mixture.

Lately I'm too poor and I've been experimenting with mixing up various stuff including some knockoff Rain-X treatment I found at a dollar store (or maybe it was at WalMart), dish soap, water, and various other stuff. It works great. Anyway, I digress.

They make loads of different products that can do the job. There's an additive specifically for washer fluid which says you can add it to water to make washer fluid or you can add it to your existing washer fluid to make it better. There's the regular original Rain-X treatment which works great if you just pour it into your washer fluid instead of having to go to all the effort of applying it manually.

http://www.rainx.com/Products/Default.aspx

Oddly, their products page doesn't show the washer additive, but I know it's still in stock at WalMart.

Anyway, if I were you, I'd just add some Rain-X or Rain-X washer fluid concentrate/additive to the fluid that came with the car. If that wasn't good enough I'd disconnect the tank and drain it rather than run the stuff out with the squirter.

My VW came with really nice fluid from the factory, it made the glass REALLY clean, though it left some residue at the edges of the wipers' travel. It was a little more soapy and less volatile/solventy than the common cheap blue stuff.

FYI

For those of you who like to maintain a show care finish on your Camaro, be careful what you put in the windsheild washer tank. Many washer fluids, especialy winter blends contain Methanol. These fluids will take off the polish/wax, leaving streaks along the top of your car and/or down the sides. Read the label! I do not know the spec on GM's fluid, so I always siphon it out and replace.

Lame. The Camaro should be driven all the time. The Camaro should never rot in a garage like some lame weakling that can't handle a little dirt or rain.

Since they are being produced in Osahwa all the Camaros will have GM spec cold climate washer fluid in them (or the tank will be empty). Which means it will be something good to at least -20 c or something like that. If you're not in a cold climate or want to replace it, just siphon it out. I wouldn't run the pump long enough to pump out the whole tank. Think about it. A typical "wash" spray puts out between 1-3 ounces. The tank holds what ? ( I haven't checked) 1/2 a gallon? (my Avy hold a full 4L jug). I imagine the Camaro has the low washer fluid warning. Most Gm cars with a DIC do.

Yep... I'm buying this car to DRIVE it, not to let it sit around and be lonely in a garage while I'm cheating on it with a uglier, less powerful car

If this car wasn't meant to be driven in the rain, then what else are the windshield wipers for??

Oh be careful, very careful DDustiNN about that "cheating on it with an uglier, less powerful car" comment. Remember the movie "Christine"? ! ?
