Ok. All we can do is give you advice right? You are the one that has to make the final decision.
Not knowing all the details I will make this as simple as I know how or we can make it complicated.
Again, anything we offer you here is pure opinion fair nuff?

What are the details on your car?
year, mileage, auto or standard, and which trim package?
What is your bottom dollar asking price to anyone?
Your best bet is to sell it outright and you have indicated you can't do that so we already know dealer will not give you your asking price. So that is the first hurdle that you really don't have a choice over but it is fact and you will need to finance or pay the difference between what the dealer says they are giving you vs the price your paying for the ZL1.

Granted you've calculated all of that through, but have you calculated the fact that the MSRP of the ZL1 is $54,095 (base) + the $2600 gas guzzler tax, then you have to add all of your regular taxes, title and licensing on top of that.

If getting a trade in amount under $27K is gonna put you in a hole, then I would suggest holding off on the ZL1 and wait till you can accept whatever deal the dealer is going to give you, and still be able to buy the car on your own terms.

yea i will just have to see but i expect since i also put a depost of 4k down and a mark up of 1k 3k will go to the msrp so i think it will be 63k out the door

If you are trading in, you should have took it and ran...
Keep in mind these prices change up and down, up and down..
same as the dealers....

I have your trade in between NADA and KBB to be right about $28,680
and retail to be $31,181.
So you are taking at least 3 grand or more up the keester for trading in.

Let's put your numbers together and see if this could work for you. These are approximates based upon what you've described, base ZL1 with $3k mark up, $27k trade in and $4k deposit. You can find this calculator on edmunds.com:

I am not sure where else where you want to go with this?
Looks like you will have about $9k to $10k equity...MAYBE..
but taxes, gas guzzler, are going to mop up that equity pretty quick...
So your pretty much starting over pal.. Sorry.. it is what it is...
Anything left over will be tacked on to your note...
By the time you trade in these numbers will do down, the zl1 numbers will go up...
Your better off finding a buyer for your SS on here than trading it towards the ZL1 IMHO. Good luck maybe the other c5 members math will work out better for ya.
Good luck
