Tidbit: water intrusion is one of many thousands of tests we run -- in fact, we actually blow snow into the grilles of cars and trucks for hours on end as the vehicle is driving (northern Canada) -- to the point where the underhood has huge amounts of ice build-up -- we do it because you never know when you may be behind a truck in a blinding snow storm for 12 hours!!![

Good to know next time I'm doing a beer run in the Artict! LOL

When I was looking for a running around car to put cheap miles on, I looked at a Yaris. Toyota cut costs they left out the hood seals so when you drive or clean it the water get's all over the engine (example of bad and water worries). It was more window shopping I would never for gotten it.

BTW I do have a request. Stabilitrak on and off on wet road with obstacle test vid. (like the suburban vid of stabli on utube now).

That's good to know in case we ever get a blizzard down here in South Texas.

Hey it could happen.

Personally I am not worried about water damage from the hoods being open for two reasons. First reason is because the cars are not made of cardboard and second my car has not been built yet ..... so no worries.

Actually being from San Antonio you should know about black ice. It does happen in the winter and can be even more dangerous here than up north because of the type of frozen precipitiation we can get.

It's Arctic, dumbazz. That beer run's kickin' in, huh? Shoot, by 11:24PM I'd have typed Artits or something. I too will be checking "beer run in a blizzard" off my list of concerns.

Fbodfather is right on. We have a test called the Universal Water Test Booth. The closest thing you can get to parking your car in a swiming pool for 8 minutes.

And the water trough they get driven through during durability testing.........you would drive 10 miles to go around it.

Well, I was being facetious but I know what you mean. It doesn't really matter, though, because whenever there is even the slightest hint of ice buildup on any highway here, the city practically shuts down anyway. You can be sure I will absolutely not be taking the 'maro out in those kind of conditions regardless.

My LS1 had degreaser, water, pressure washer treatment for 15-20 minutes. A far more amount of water than rain that just happens to get past what an open hood does not cover over the engine.

April Fools joke?

Just asking.
