If you need a coupe because you have self-esteem problems, well I suggest you get a Prius so you dont kill somebody trying to show how manly you are with your "Hot Rod".

As for the Vert, wait.... it will be well worth it.
Well good thing yours has no merit or value either. ...Have fun with your convertible "Hot Rod", even if it has the handling of a wet towel.

Man, it's obvious you've never driven / ridden in any kind of open topped automobile at SPEED?!!! When the weather's great, with the wind rushing through your hair, while absorbing all that Vitamin D from the sun, and not only hearing but feeling a great exhaust note roaring at your command, and actually feeling like you and your car are ONE, and I haven't even mentioned ALL the extra scenery for your eyes to feast on...dude, what's not to LOVE?!!! It's ALL about the FEELING!!!!!!!!

Now I'm really getting pissed all over again that there are no T-Tops on these Camaros!!!

Actually I have. My dad had a Mercedes CLK430 Kabriolet which he recently sold to make room for the Camaro. Even an 80 thousand dollar German sports car like that wasn't nearly as rigid as the coupe version. Ya convertibles are great if you don't care about performance, but personally I won't sacrifice stability and handling for that giggly feeling you get with the top down.

Go right ahead. I didn't even need to mention the "chick car" aspect of convertibles but you went right ahead and stated it anyway. Thanks!

Wow, Did someone in a Vert pee on your cheerioes? I mean of all the posters I have come across on this forum, you leave me speechless. Just where will you need all the "extra" stability that the coupe has? Going to try out for the next Fast and Furious movie? I would bet that the Vert SS will have all the power you would ever need, and handle just fine.

im sure it will have the same power,
but to me, handling is more important than straight line speed.
one of the only cars i have see where the vert has the same rigidity as the coupe is a Aston martin vantage,
and that is a 91k pound car.
so i doubt that a 30kish camaro will.

ps. its cabriolet, not kabriolet.

heres the aston martin top gear video...i like to cite sources.

No, it's just almost every person I've met who drives a convertible muscle car values their self-image and how cool they look in the car over anything else. Shit, I could have gotten an 03 Terminator Cobra instead of my 07 GT but it was a convertible so I promptly passed it over. Convertibles in my opinion are a joke, and I honestly couldn't care less what you think about it. Thanks for the input anyway!

I will probably wait for the vert.

I appreciate the advice...I had a C5 corvette coupe and I miss the hell out of it especially on nice days (I had to sell it due to child#2). That was a coupe with removable glass top. I had the top off every chance I could, not for looks, but I enjoyed every aspect of no roof. My main concern and reason for this post was...
1. Are they definately coming out with the vert?
2. About when will it be ready to order?
3. Is it worth waiting for?
If it will be available in 12-18 months, I am waiting for the vert...if longer, I may order a coupe.
Thanks

After what we're going thru with this coupe why would you want to go through it again for the convertible? Its gonna be 5 grand more and heavier. And by the time it comes out the CAFE numbers will be higher, so there will be a gas guzzler tax. So that puts you at 7 grand more than todays coupe, plus any price increases that happen between now and then.
Yes, I love the look of the ragtop when the top is down. But I like the frame stiffness of the coupe. I hate the feeling of my car bending everytime I go over a railroad track, and every one of them does it.

Some good points but I believe the GG Tax and CAFE are completely seperate.

To the stang guy, I think you made the point that you don't like convertibles awhile back. :bangdesk:
