I'm going to call around tomorrow in a 100 mile radius and see how my odds stand, I probably wont cancel my order here just placed a different one somewhere else and see which order gets pulled first then I'll cancel the one that didnt.

so since basically every dealer has a waiting list, haha, the one i have been talking to said that he had two slots open still. and i am ironing it out to order soon.
if i do get in a slot, when would i get the car?
and at this rate, when will camaros actually be sitting on lots?

That's what I did! Trust me..I wasn't about to cancel the first order till I had the second one completed!! But I did cancel the first order right after I drove off the lot with my new paperwork.
I hope you find a closer slot!

That's probably not the right thing to do. I can understand canning your order and moving on to another dealer but 2x is playing the system.

How does allocation work? is it monthly? weekly? or how?

He told me they are going to get a few Cars from a different dealer but that they are going to pay MSRP for them so they are going to sell them for 2-3k over MSRP to make some money on them. Im actually getting temped to pay over MSRP for one of this instead of waiting for months.
I'm with UCF on this one. El Paso is supposed to be like our sister city (size wise), our largest dealer got 25 allocations thru 3rd quarter. If you are indeed 30 out of 40 it sounds like all orders over 18 will be after 3rd quarter. To ease your mind you just need to ask him what his original allocation was thru 3rd quarter.

Once again... #1 does not get you an early car if you ordered from a small dealership that may not have had many total allocations, meaning the smaller dealerships might not be getting any pulled for the first few months.

See above... essentially it works this way... I was number 2 at my dealer but the CGM constraint bumped me to number 3. My dealer had 25 allocations thru Q3, that works out to about 1 - 2 cars per consensus, not all dealers will get cars pulled every week. So, if you were to order from a dealer with 30 allocations and you were in the 20's... it's gonna be a while, same if you were number 2 out of 6, it could be a while depending on when the dealer gets their cars pulled.

Ideally getting in the top 5 of a dealer with 25+ allocated - and having a car with NO constraints will see the fastest turn-around.

As far as these things being on the lots... we had guessed a few months back it might be July or August, but the way things are going (at this moment), there might not be any on the lots til Christmas. But that could change. I have seen a lot more posts where people are moving from 1100 to 3000 in a matter of a week. If that trend were to continue it might be sooner. Eventually the line start up bugs will be ironed out, the line will be up to full speed, and we might see cars going from pulled to built in a few weeks for those those ordered later... who knows

Hope that didn't confuse anyone more.

I would be fine getting my car within the third quarter, thas actually what I was especulating to begin with getting it withing july, august or september.

But If I had to wait longer than that til the 4th quarter per say, then I wouldnt mind having to drop an extra 2-5k over MSRP to get one may or june.
