My dealer has a camaro with ground effects on display. He said that they had to paint them... they come as like a flat black color.

That looks really good painted, I either want the front piece only and leave it color it comes. I like the way it looks against yellow or I kinda want the whole kit with the front left alone and the sides and rear color matched.

Body kit install

Ok I am a newbie and this is my first post so go easy on me.

I work for the local chevy dealer and installed the ground effects package yesterday. Yes it is a time consuming and well involved task, Labor is roughly 3 hours. Since this was my first install it took me about 4 hours. There is cutting of the round exhaust tips to allow clearance for the new cut outs (sawzall makes short work of this), and there is extensive drilling in the front fascia. Rear gets 4 holes drilled in it.

The kit comes in a grey metallic color and is not painted, if you have access to a hoist that will make the task a lot easier, and the 2 person part is cause you have to remove the front and rear fascia's from the car and they are big and bulky.

Lastly the directions that come with the kit are ok they are not the best and I changed a few processes in the install to all for a cleaner install. The changes were mostly on the front air dam, the instructions have you bolt the corners first but this put a small bow in the one i did and made an 1/8" gap and the point on the front to the car. The tires dont necessarily have to come off as I did it without removing them.

That is what I was told today too. I have 25 orders ahead of mine nationwide. My RJT is on its way as well. Argh.

had my ground effects installed by the dealer, car has 1400 miles on it,got the front bottom of the effects scrapped a little, not sure if they dropped a little and the wind pulled them down, but there only held with 3m double face tape, had them reinstalled by the the dealer, went to pick up the car,and they already had pulled loose in the parking lot, reinstlled again said they would use some type of activator to clean the front part the car before before installing them again, well ther coming loose again, question any one else having this type of problem? body shop said these parts are kind heavy just to be held with tape.any help on this would be helpful
