Out of curiosity how much whp would an SS have with a turbo setup at 26 psi (with a proper setup)?

On a stock ls3/l99? About 0 horsepower and 0 torque. . . roughly. An fp green is a relatively small turbo, smaller than your typical 30r. PSI is a measure of restriction more than power. 26psi on a 4 cylinder is a hell of a lot less CFM than the same PSI on a comparable 8 cylinder.

26psi is a ton of pressure for any engine, if I was running 26psi in my WRX, I'd probably be at 450-500hp easy, and my cylinders would blow out of the sides of the engine and hopefully take out the car next to me in a race.

When looking at what you are going to boost to, you have to look at the engine internals, they offer fully built engine blocks with forged blocks, rods, pistons and everything for this purpose. The engines that come in the japanese versions of our "tuner" cars are sometimes built with these forged components and come this way stock. The same US car is often de-tuned and taken down a few notches, like how mine just had forged pistons. Knowing your engine components/upgrading them can give you a pretty good idea of what you can boost to, but;

You can't boost an LS3 to 26psi. You have to look at the compression ratio of the engine as well. Higher compression ratio=less boost you can put in to the engine, otherwise it's too much stress on the components. You go look in the FI formums and they are running 7-9psi in the LS3, and that makes a pretty huge increase with these engines, given their compression ratio. I think it's around 10:1 and for comparission, my wrx was about 8.5:1 if I remember correctly.

So, I'd imagine about 1500-2000hp with the 26psi...wouldn't last very long though. The above post explains that a turbo moves air, when you consider the size of what it's moving air into, then you can determine the PSI, so two big turbos on the V8 doing their thing may not make more than 9 psi, but it's moving as much air as would generate 26psi in a smaller engine. There isn't a turbo around that will make 26psi in the camaro.

I believe with the compression, ~8psi would net good power with say a Whipple or Maggie. 26??? Boom.

It's not only the size of the engine you take into account, but also the size of the turbo. Something like a K04 @26 psi would make a lot less power than a GT35 @ 10psi.

26psi isnt shit for a diesel engine. My daily driven Cummins doesn't spool up until 15psi and hits 40psi+ during WOT with 17.5:1 compression ratio.

True, I was considering gas engines commonly found in cars. I had also considered some of the aircraft engines know about when I wrote that, but I also figured that they were outside the scope.
