I dont know if your dealer is offering it, but I bought the wheel and tire protection from my finance guy when I bought mine... the protection only costed $399, and it protects the wheels and tires. Get that and you won't have to worry about price, since I'm pretty sure a new wheel and tire will cost more than the protection.

Well you better carry 2 spares with you as the front and rear are not the same size.

You DO KNOW that there is NO room for a spare in the bottom on a SS ? The well is only for the 18 on the LS/ LT.

I have driven 1,000,000 miles plus and the only flat was in my driveway.

Seriously guys? All this over a freaggin' tire? I can understand your concern camarossrs, but unless you have several enemies (like I do), why would there be a 3-inch gash on your tire? (Remember guys: "Do unto others before they do unto you") And unless you're driving through a cactus field, I don't think the tire will be seriously damaged to the point where you can't use the inflate.
I've had my truck for almost 8 year now and never has a tire exploded just because it felt like it (yes, I'm knocking on wood right now richard you lucky dawg!!!). Even been off-roading and never were the tires damaged.

I will definitely be purchasing that if available, esp. considering the cost of these tires alone! I bought a 3-year deal like that for my Infiniti when I bought it, and it more than paid for itself at least 3x over.
