I never had a problem with one wheel burn outs but when I decided to put on a Maggie, I decided I needed to upgrade the rear end for the much increased torque load.

Ted sent me one of his complete 3.91 LPE rear ends with posi mods and billet caps. All I can say is its been one of the best upgrades I have done. Drives like factory, NO gear noise of any kind, dramatic kick in the rear with N/A engine, with maggie, flat out amazing!!!

The posi upgrade also holds the added torque with no problems at all, if I burn it out there are always even rubber being laid by each side.

I had a set of Richmond 3.73s before this complete unit also put together by Ted. We had a problem with the factory worm gear letting loose and the popping and snapping caused the ring gear to crack as well. Not the fault of the Richmond gears of the installation by Ted, just bad luck with the factory gear letting loose.

That said, the Richmonds, while not noisy, made noticably more gear noise then the LPE gears. I recommend the LPE gears and Teds complete upgraded rear end to everyone that asks about upgrading their Gen5s differential. You will not be unhappy with this upgrade!!!

If you have the one wheel burn out problem, it WILL solve that.

Sharp... It will work on your auto and make a major difference going from 3.27 to 3.91 gears. You'd notice:

Quicker acceleration - the major pro and point to them. It's a HUGE difference.

A very slight decrease in mpg (very slight)

A small bit higher rpm per mph. For example on my ls3 I went from 3.45 to 4.10 and the difference was 500 rpm. Meaning if 60 mph used to be 1500 rpm in 6th, it was increased to 2000. This is where your slight decrease I'm mpg comes from BUT also your quicker acceleration.

You will also lose a few mph off top speed but whatever.

I LOVED the 4.10 ratio. Too bad the blew up.

I would think you'd need to be pushing some MAJOR power to justify needing a 9".

I'm giddy as a school girl to get my hands on Ted's rearend!
