if your'e not happy with it, you can always take it off. I know it might seem like a waste of money but, at least you don't have to be stuck with it. However, I don't think they'd make it an option if it didn't go well with the ECF hood insert. It remains to be seen but I'm sure the majority that chose it as an option will like it.

Is there a reason why GM will not post pics of this option or why we can’t get any confirmation considering they are already built??

The B92 option will have a very similar appearance to the roof of the ZR1 - or the carbon edition ZL1 at NAIAS - it's actual carbon-fiber with a sunscreen clearcoat. It is not a decal as on the Transformer Edition Camaro.

Carbon fiber is a great lightweight material - and very appropriate for a high-performance car. However, it's more difficult (than on sheetmetal) to get a great finish....and that's one of the reasons why both the black insert and the B92 are both on constraint -

Ahh kinda figured that's the reason we have not seen the grey stripe yet. Glad it's not like the transformer stripe, just would not look appropriate imo. Can't wait to see it and since i'm back to the starting gate again, i'll probably get to see one before my ordering time comes around.

Thx fbodfather for your post.

I live in the Washington DC area so I'm used to this type of jargon.

I just can't picture a plain grey stripe that's why I opted out. Now if I wanted a stripe, Black would have been my choice.

Well, you have to know that being on this site, he has to walk a tightrope! To the "left" lies the hungry public sharks yearning for tidbits and not accepting any leftovers, while on the "right" lay the corporate barracudas, themselves walking a tightrope between government and shareholder oversight and regulation; Should there be a slip up, or simply something gets misinterpreted or misconstrued, the penalty might be harsh.

Scott keeps a great balance walking that tightrope, which at times, is akin to the danger and excitement of watching high wire act in a three ring circus! No innuendo intended.

Always appreciate your time as I know it is limited, however, that was not the question at hand or the topic of the thread. We are all still questioning the STRIPE and the appearance it will have. We know it's grey but thats all we know. Carbon fiber look? Gloss sheen with clearcoat?

The B92 is the exposed carbon hood insert and there are pictures on the carbon edition camaro. everybody here in this thread is talking about the DSW dark gray stripe carbon fiber appearnce option.

I have not seen what that looks like. that is the reason I posed in the transformer pic. We now it is vinyl but not the shade or 100% if it carbon look. if it is gray and carbon look it seems like it would be similar to the transformer edition stripe.

Gray stripe

Ok, we've walked around this gray stripe about 100 times. Scott says that the stripe will be dark gray meaning NO CARBON FIBER PATTERN ON THE GRAY STRIPE! CORRECT?

Really doesn't make since to me having CF with a solid colored stripe when we know GM can match the CF insert.

Here is a company that has 7 different colors to chose from:
