I rhink they are waiting for the new spec parts from their supplier, that seems like the reason as to why your car is still in Oshawa

Well lets hope they get this all figured out soon...They must be around what 5000 produced so far...that means all the 16000 orders should be built within 2-3 months

V6 manual fix.

Hey francone. I posted a couple weeks ago about this problem, and the solution. A friend of mine is friends with an engineer who has been dealing with this. It seems as though the 2nd gear synchros, and the clutch and pressure plate couldn't handle the power that this V6 puts out ! They didn't stand up to the infamous 'Woodward Test' - holeshots and powershifts thru all gears to redine- over and over and over ! Just like we're gonna drive 'em !!! These problems have supposedly been fixed, by redesigning them, and going to a different source for a heavier duty clutch. The new parts are in the pipeline and will start to be built in mid May. I'm anxious also, since I'm waiting for a V6 manual myself. Tomorrow I'll speak to my 'source' and see if he can give us an update.

If it took them a panic du jour and three days later to even acknowledge the brake caliper situation (and there still isn't an official resolution to that) I highly doubt you will hear anything about a problem with the V6 manuals unless it makes it on the front page of Jalopnik again..

edit: posted two minutes before mine. This is unofficial I presume but explains the situation if true.. Tell your friend thanks.

That would be great! Thanks. On another thread some one suggested I was starting a unfounded rumour when I raised this.

With the alleged V6 manual transmission problem maybe I shouldn't want my car to come in on June 1 as scheduled, afterall. (I was hoping to get it before GM misses it's bond payment and is threatened with Chapter 11.) Boy I am confused...this information age can be too much sometimes.

Well at least they say the warranty will be good...I wonder for how long...anyone know?
