I also swithced out from DT shortie headers to OBX long tube headers. I paired both of them with the solo high flow cats. The difference is not that noticable. The car pulls a litter harder with the long tube headers, but the difference IMO is not worth the price of the long tube headers and the install price. All the power is coming from the High flow cats. Shortie headers producer a deeper sound, and the long tubes are really raspy. This has been my experience, and may not be someone else's. Maybe a retune from vince can even get me more power, and would have made the long tube headers a great investment, but i doubt it.

Then i put on the solo high flow cats and the power gain was unbelievable.
Do you have a part # for the setup you bought ? I'd like to find out if there is a price difference in the bolt on cats from the weld on cats . Plus did you get the O2 extended's to replace the 2nd cat.

Cats are bolt on only. My muffler shop had to weld them on only beacuse my shortie headers did not have a mounting flange.

No CEL as of now, but i have the trifecta tune. But if you were to use the high flow cats with either the stock headers or the shortie headers then you would not get a CEL.

Can high flow cats that are sold with long tubes not be purchased separately?

I dont think they can be purchased separately, but im 100% sure. The only company i know that just sells high flow cats for the V6 is Solo Performance. But they are expensive. I would just buy the long tube headers with high flow cats included like BBK for example. The BBk headers and high flow cats are $699 and just the solo high flow cats by them selfs are $695.00

The oly reason I didn't want LTs was because of rasp. Now that I know the ARK LT combo works awesome, makes me reconsider getting them

I've got flanges on my shorty Pacesetters and am thinking about these solo high flows. I just found out Pacesetter makes long tubes with optional cats now too.

I've heard a lot of people complain about LTs and rasp lately.

Yes they add a lot of rasp, but it all depends on what exhaust your running. Running them with something that can control it well = pure magic. running them with an exhaust is is bit raspy in the first place, like the flowmaster AMTs will be rasp city.

I wish the SOLO cats weren't so expensive....I'd maybe just run them instead of doing LT headers. I've been tempted by the BBK headers before, but so far I haven't pulled the trigger.

whats about pared with the ARK N2 ? i was thinking of LT's
but then heard DOUG THORLEYS shorties offered a general strong rumble, which pared with the ARK n2 will probably sound awesome.

also , the whole HFCs vs no cats. which would be better ?

The JBA shorty headers have the same flanges and locations as the stock manifolds. Because of that, the solo HFC'S will bolt up to the JBA shorty headers and stock mid-pipe. JBA to Solo to midpipe is bolt on and no welding. Just thought I'd share for those interested. Should be a decent gain in power too.
