Of COURSE it is!!
Well, ok, I just think its cool.

Other than the graphics, stitching and rims (that only come on the 45th) there ain's squat of difference.

Other than the stuff we 'special edition' owners aren't allowed to share in public, of course. Sorry kids, unless you know the secret handshake you'll never find out about the... whoops. I almost let the cat out of the bag there.

I didn't realize the stripes added so much. Thought it would be only 5-10 max.

Alright, thanks everyone for there input. Yes, having a 45th anniversary is probably nice but I guess so is having a rare color. I'll justwait till its the 50th anniversary or better yet, a Z/28.

Funny thing........while visiting our local Chevy dealer the other day I heard some peep that pulled up in his Mustang, mention to his friends that piled out with him, that the 45th on the hood meant that the cars top speed was limited to 45 miles per hour........go figure.

The other day I overheard, "Oh, I guess that means he got the 4.5L engine option." Sigh.....

I heard that they will build as many of the 45th's that people want to order so not a limited production run. ( which would have been nice )

Have any of you heard the same?

Also, through my digging around it is also the same paint code as Black Granite Met. on all the other chevys just renamed Carbon Flash Met.
I didnt want to believe this so i took my BGM Malibu to the dealer and parked it next to a 45th on the lot and guess what.... They are the same.....

The one thing i dont like about the car is the fact there is no SS emblems on the interior at all. You can take a V6 and turn it into an SS (Looks Wise) with a new front bumper....

Correct. The 45th Anniversary package is exactly that, a package. Pretty much the same idea as ordering an RS package. We won't know how limited of a run it is until they stop selling them. Since it is only available on the 2012 model there probably won't be too many though.

Well, you could eventually make a Yugo look like an SS if you bought enough parts.

I really don't mind if somebody wants to make their car look like an SS. I bought mine for what's under the hood and not the badges, though I do like the badges.

Besides, as soon as it is started up the truth will be told. I say let 'em play.

If you like carbon flash metallic better than any other color, the 45th would be better than the rest.

i am surprised more people don't own the 45th. i live in downtown dallas and i have not seen a single 45th on the road yet other than my own. it's really surprising.

i'm a detailing nut and so far...CFM has been the easiest color i have ever owned. i know that may shock some people, but it hides dust better than any other car i've owned before and GM paint is always hard and difficult to scratch (which is nice).

On the bottom of the steering wheel, there's a small SS emblem..
Can't say on the newer wheel though, but my '10 has one
