So the check valve on the breather and the can both still rattle?
I wonder if because of the foamy nature of winter PCV waste that maybe it's not allowing the catch can valve to flow properly. If your can was mounted on the engine the possiblilty of this happening would be reduced.

It may not even be the RX stuff, but I assumed the OP contacted Tracy first.

Why is does mounting it on the engine reduce the possiablity? Vibration? I pulled the PCV valve off the catch can and put on the optional non-valved fitting that came with the catch can. Do you think the seal is damaged? The crank seal is the only thing I can think of that would leak in that area.

The winter coat was nothing more than Reflectix wrap or insulation. It didn't do much. I'm waiting on a bracket from Tracy so I can mount my catch can on the tensioner bracket.

Damn, this is getting me nervous now. I just installed my RX cc a few days ago, but because it is winter out I haven't started it/taken it on the road yet for a test drive. I hope this doesn't happen to. I never did buy the breather though.

I wouldn't worry. I drove mine everyday last winter and had no problems. I also have 31k miles on my car and the majority of those miles with the RX catch can.

MY Rx Catch Can should be in the mail, I ordered it over a week ago. I ran a Billet Tech CC on my Charger for a few years so unless it is vastly different, I doubt a catch can is the problem.

No need to be worried, most likely the breather isn't the cause of this. Nor is the catch can. I've been running an RX catch can and breather for 5K miles give or take and no problems. I'm also in northwestern PA - lots of snow and cold weather. Have yet to have a problem.

I have had the catch can installed for almost a year with no issues. I do not take the car out when it is snowing or if the roads are salty. But today was below freezing. I took out the metered valve and installed the non-metered one.
