Pffft. That is nothing. My car, an 05 model I bought with 90 miles on it, has 115,000 right now. Will probably break 200,000 in 24 months.

On the OP, great question and thanks to those who have answered.

Just a comparison here but my 2004 GMC truck computer was accurate to within tenths until they replaced the dashpod for a factory speedo malfunction under warranty. Evidently the new one wasn't calibrated or adjusted to the truck because now it consistently is reading low 1 mpg.

And the Vette computer is accurate to within a couple of tenths.

My Trailblazer LTZ is always within .X mpg, I check it almost every tankful, Hope my Camaro is that accurate. I have an old '92 APV for work w/417,222 miles on it. Doubt I,ll get that many miles on the Camaro but hope its that reliable. Haven't even changed the alternator! Take that riceburners!

Not true... at least not with mine. I ALWAYS get 2mpg less than the computer says.

Reset it on freeway, put it in 6th gear at about 65mph for the next 5 miles I got
31mpg. Overall I'm getting almost 19 which is almost all city driving. Not bad!! Granted this is during the breakin
period and I'm not letting rpms get too high before I shift.

Not saying you are wrong, but keep in mind you can't control the fuel shut off at the pump so you can't confirm the exact number of gallons used. You can only confirm the exact number of miles you drove and you can also confirm the amount of fuel you used in the next fill up.

Unless you use the exact same pump under the same conditions, you won't get an exact number you need for an exact calculation. Whcih is why I've found the DIC to report slighty different (high and low) when I've confrimed mileage.

This is because most computers nowadays do their calculations over longer periods then just one tank to get a more accurate reading.

Are the canadian cars going to be in us or imperial gals. ??? or in l/100km's ??? This is where it get interesting to figure out. Our gal. is bigger and the km is smaller, I always just do the math at the pump to get the true pic. :-)

Mine has always been correct whenever I double-checked it as well...
