Some thoughts from a 5th gen owner

These are the stories we've been awaiting for so long........

You have NO IDEA of how the Camaro keeps our spirits up here in the Motor City -- not a lot of good news coming out of GM or Ford or Chrysler - -in fact most of it is bad news...........

...........and I come out of the building late and feeling 'kicked' --









..........and then there's "Thor" -- awaiting me in the parking deck --

..and that makes all of this worth while...........

I went to get a pizza last night and everyone working at the resturaunt came out. My best story yet it when I came home from work this morning. There where 2 city trucks in front of my house and my Dad (who I work with) said " I wonder why they're in front of your house". I said "probably checking out the car". I was joking but they really where there looking at the car. At the dealership yesterday a Marine stopped in with an 09 Shelby and was kicking himself.

The best thing about this car is the attention it gets. Like I said I have owned this car for around 15 hours and people flock to it. If you don't have many friends then this car is your answer. On the test drive alone it almost caused on accident and a guy in a suburban refused to go ahead of me at a stop sign. My saleman told me 20 people wanted to buy the car for the one day it sat in the service entrance. I am impressed with this car and it has surpassed my expectations. I would reccommend it to anyone. This car should be a good volume seller and will definantly get people into the dealerships. It will help GM in this tough time. Don't plan on sleeping for a couple days when your Camaro comes in!

i'm curious...have you heard any chirping coming from the back right side when you go over bumps?

i got to test drive a black 2ss (automatic) a couple of weeks ago and i noticed it after awhile and it drove me nuts!! the dealer said he hadn't heard it, but hadn't driven it yet. it seemed like it was something that was specific to that car, being as how it was so specifically located. sounded like the suspension just needed to be better lubricated.

i might order mine next week, but this is my only concern

after reading the stories, thought i'd share mine while i was test driving one. for those wondering, the car belonged to the dealership owner, who's a friend, which is why i was able to test drive it. every dealership i've mentioned this to has been shocked because apparently, they're not supposed to let us drive them!!

anyways, my friend gives me the keys and says, "drive around the block, see you when you get back!" how cool is that?

as i'm stopped at a light, waiting to turn right, some young guy (around my age) on a bycicle was at the stop light waiting to cross. he starts yelling, "hey, hey!" i look over (windows down with no radio on so i could hear the engine!).

"hey, give me a ride!! please!!!"

i laughed, and told him i couldn't. didn't explain why, just said, "Sorry, bro. i can't."

"ahh, c'mon!!"

"sorry, man, besides, your bike wouldn't fit anywhere"

"so what, i'll leave the f---n bike!! PLEASE!!!"

i laughed for days, and laugh everytime i tell the story!

I dont have an SS, but my 1LT has caused some stirrin up in my town. I have the only one in town, and I get harassed everyday about it..pics, convo, etc...its awesome.
