Save the AWD for the rally cars, too many negatives and IMO the Camaro just doesn't need it.

If it were front wheel drive, I wouldn't even consider it.
With Rear Wheel drive, it's a possibility. With all wheel drive, I can't think of another car I'd want. The TBSS is nearly a perfect vehicle, if only it had a manual transmission. The sti is a real driver's car, unbeatable on rain/ice/snow/mud, butt ugly as sin. Give me a true AWD hot rod. I don't understand all the negative comments about it. I can't believe GM didn't pick it up after its long relationship with subaru. It's the one element missing that gives me pause |

What's not to understand? It's heavier, it's more expensive, more things to wear/tear/break, more parasitic loss, etc. It's only real purpose in a performance application is rally racing, and that just isn't the Camaro.

I think it would still be plenty fast given the weight. Just look at how fast the Trailblazer SS and Jeep SRT8 is. Stock they both run 13.5 and the Jeep is quicker to 60 then the Charger SRT8.
I live in the snow country and would definetly buy awd Camaro SS. I'm all about 1/4 mile anyways. Imagine an AWD Camaro SS A6 with 3600 stall and some boost... 10's for sure. Its all about boosted launches, I do them often in my 500whp turbo diesel ram and get killer 60ft's. |
