When you say beat, I'm assuming your talking 1/4 mile. I think two guys arguing over whos car is faster in the 1/4 mile is like listening two guys arguing over who can reach the big O faster when playing "Master of Your Own Domain" (see "Seinfeld")

I use real world racing measurements not 1/4 mile times. Examples of real world racing are.

MPG: V6
Fun to drive: Tie
Cool looks: Tie
Babe Magnet: Tie
Lower insurance: V6
Cost to buy: V6
Mod ability: Tie
Mail carrier try's to shove letters in the nose of: V8

GretchenGrowl and Tracy from Rx Performance have been tweaking the SG V6 TT car. I got to roll around in that car and I'll tell you right now, it's friggin fast. I've driven some pretty fast 5th Gens and this one moves the heck out.

Keep an eye out on what the fellas from Rx are doing with the TT and SC kits for the V6. They are no joke.

Although the V6 is a great car, it's gonna be pretty hard to compete with a 6.2L V8. The thing's a beast. I'm sure it's possible, but it would take a lot of money. If you really want the SS, it'd be better to just save that money and get one when you can swing it. I threw a lot of money into my V6 for mods and then realized it wasn't my cup of tea.

Thinking of nos but i am very nervous about it.
Why does it matter what he does so much?
Love what you have and be confident with it.

This.

Plus the other comment above about there always being a faster car on the road. Just enjoy what you have. This person sounds a little immature. Throw your car into sports mode and it has plenty of power and push. This is by no means a weak engine and even if you beat him in a silly street race, would that justify thousands of dollars to upgrade your car?

Ofcourse it will not justify me spending crazy loot but if there was a way to do it reasonably i will jump on it. I know my car is fast. I love it. But he is a ahole with that stupid grin. U r right. My car is still hotter than his. I never went to a dealer n said give me the fastest camaro. I said i want that camaro cause its hot. Then i said how much for the ss n then when i got the response i was like the v 6 please....lol.

horsepower wise we are up there with the stock ss with all bolt on's, but what we still lack on is torque. Those ss are a torque monsters, our V6 lack in this deaprtment unfortunately. Still, we can give a stock ss one hell of a run.

Using some sort of forced induction (Nitrous, turbo, supercharger) will easily put you equal or over a stock SS...the TT setups are proving to be the equivalent of a pretty modded SS.

But I think you are talking N/A setup.

First off...driving your car to its potential...in other words out driving the other guy is a huge part of the equation. Just ask SixJak whom owns a modded manual V6. He sais his brother with an L99 SS was always getting tired of Jak beating him off the line...but i'm sure once the speeds hit somewhere around 60 to 80 the SS would just walk away.

So I think beating the SS in shorter stints from a dig might be the way to go. I don't think you'd ever get him in a roll.

As far as power....doing every V6 bolt on available makes for one hell of a quick V6 but you will still be down 30 or 40 horsepower and much more torque from an L99 SS....even more the LS3. If you went as far as to do cams and ported heads on the V6 in addition to all bolt ons you might get pretty close to L99 level horsepower, but again you are down on Torque.

So anyways, that said there are only a couple more cheap changes you could do to help bump the power in your car...past that the prices jump drastically.

Enjoy your car for what it is (an awesome Camaro). If the guy wasn't such an A hole I'd say go meet up at a safe place and do some quick runs to 60 or 70 and see how it turns out, but if he really is an A hole he will probably jsut give you more crap after that.
