Glad your all ok. They need to start treating drivers who text while driving like people who drink and drive. Do you think the camaro played a part in everyone coming out ok?...other than God of course.

DOT has implemented new rules eliminating any phone use while behind the wheel of any commercial vehicles. No blue tooth, hands free, etc are allowed. The only allowable handset is the old style CB radio handset connected to a two way radio. Texting is absolutely 100% against the law while operating a commercial vehicle. You are not even allowed to reach for your phone. The law and punishments are listed and implemented on January 1, 2012. Check the DOT website or have your lawyer do it. I spend a fair amount of time on the road each day. Texting while driving is equal to or worse than DUI.

Take care.
I agree with this guy. Thank god you and your daughter is okay. But hey maybe you might get that convertible zl1 now. But most important is that you and your daughter is safe

I dont even talk on my phone and drive and i have it hooked up to bluetooth in case someone calls i can answer on the steering wheel. That does suck that people havent learned not to text and drive yet. Its almost as bad as drunk drivers it seems. Maybe one day they will put something in cars to disable texting while driving.

I think worse! At least drunks are looking at the road, even if it's blurry.

To the OP, Sorry to hear about the crash, but glad that no serious injuries were incurred.

What a shame. But, it's good that you or your daughter weren't hurt. Hopefully, the truck driver will get the book thrown at him!!

mulehead7...you are incorrect. You can use handsfree/ bluetooth type headsets still. No cell phone in your hand and definitely no texting at all in a CMV.

I am very glad you & your daughter are not seriously injured. I know you are broken hearted about your Camaro but she gave her life to save yours & your daughter's. Our Camaros are good about that. I hope you get that ZL1 and a lot more compensation from that truck driver & his company.

Make 'em pay!...Your melons were whiplashed more than you realize...don't settle, or tell them you're OK...stay under a doctor's care and keep your claim open...

Sorry to hear about the "accident"...that type of thing is why my kid drives a full size pick-up, and the reason why I quit riding street bikes...life is gone in a flash...

Good luck
