I am a fan of Royal Purple. Been using it for about a decade now in various vehicles.

I will probably go Mobil 1 in my car over Royal Purple, mainly because of availability and price. Have ran both and both work great! Have never tried Amsoil so have no input on that one.. If you want to know anything about oil this is the website to check out... http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/
That includes questions about warranty issues, it is well covered on this site..

I was warned, using royal purple, basically voids your warranty. Yeah you heard it, I was told by my service advisor. Unless you put in what Chevy recommends, thich I think it's valvoline, basically you are voiding your warranty.
As long as the oil meets the specs in the manual you can use whatever oil you want without voiding the warranty. They cant make you use a certain brand, its against the law. Your service manager is lieing to you or is misinformed.

I guess I should be more clear. I use Mobil One for my oil changes.
I use Royal Purple for rear diff and tranny and usually change that every 30K miles. Looks like I will be changing rear diff more often on this car.

I noticed a huge difference in the way my 02 SS felt after adding Royal Purple to the rear diff!! It was awesome!! Just don't know if I wanted to do that with this ZL1! Maybe I will!!

Actually, Royal Purple has met Dexos1 specifications for about 6 months now.

This is the only rating that matters for 2011+ GM cars. So any dealer telling you that you will void your warranty because of it is making it up.

Royal Purple is the only way to go as far as I'm concerned.

there was a guy on the corvette forum who analyzed the two independantly. Mobil 1 had more life than royal purple in his test. they both had good results.

I don't trust the backyard mechanic's on motor oil. Most dont test so they are just guessing. I don't switch unless there is a proven reason too.

I don't think you could go wrong with either but why have that argument if you waranty is still intact. just saying.

Read the owners manual on all 2012's your required to use the
DEX oil or risked voiding your power train warranty
