The dreaded grey stripe question Can anybody help?

My Red ZL1 arrived today at the Dealer with the new Grey Stripe, and Yes it is very dark--almost Black but after a real close look by three others we all determined it was a very Dark Grey...........The Stripe like the rest of the car was Filthy, but it did look good---Remember though with the Sunroof like I have youonly get the Stripe on the Trunk......
Ialso ordered the Convertible but switched to the Dark Grey with Black inside and Black Wheels---Did want the New Blue with the Beige top, but that top is Constrained.....Harvey

Is there anyway you or actireman could get a pic of the grey stripe and please post it sometime this weekend. I dont think I'm the only one who has to make this stripe decision before the Tuesday night deadline that my dealer said 2012 allocation yet to be built have to be finalized. Like I said b4 I just learned today I'm getting screwed out of the black parts and I would really like the stripe if it looks decent on the red color. I want it come with a factory stripe if I going to get one because of the issue of the XM antenna. I believe on the black stripe it would have been wrapped or color matched to the vinyl black and I hope that is the case with the grey stripe. I really can't believe GM decided on the grey stripe revision long enough ago and that cars have been built with them and on the verge of delievery to customers, but yet they could'nt have sent a mass email to dealers with pictures of it to at least have an example to show people like me suddenly forced to make this stripe choice

I have the black hood and full black stripe and love it. And I will say this, after seeing my buddys car, I would be completly happy with the ECF hood and new stripe. My car is silver and it would still look badass. The XM antenna will be the same color as the stripe. Like the other guy said, at first it looks black, thats how dark it is. The cool thing about the ECF hood is one way you look at it, it looks black and then at another angle it looks exposed. It gives you the best of both worlds.

mlee - I passed both because of the ECF change and uncertainty about the stripe. It went to the next person in line at the dealer. I definitely wanted a stripe so I had to make the call with what I knew at the time.

I was told the opposite, my order went through yesterday with the painted hood and black stripe. I asked my dealer if he had to change it and he said no. I find it weird because it seems everyone had to switch the the ECF insert.

I was not going to pick up my ZL1 from the Dealer till the middle of the following week because I am going to the Bash at the Corvette Museum in Kentucky-and then I was staying on to watch my 2013 ZR1 come off line on May 1----BUT I will try my best to get over to The Dealer today --take some pictures and then SOMEBODY will have to Post them...Take care...Harvey

Congrats Harvey, glad you finally got it.

You going to drive or fly to the Bash? It would be a great way to break in the ZL1, you would just have to do a lot of explaining Say Hi to everyone for me.
