I say you go see it and discuss the details of leaving it there for display. Unless you agree otherwise, you can bet there are going to be people sitting in your car and playing with everything.

Maybe you can work out some arrangement where they'll pay you to leave it with them one day each weekend until they get a lot car to put on display.

GO PICK IT UP. If the car just sits there, that increases the chances of someone walking in and paying 10k more than you are willing to. and judging by some stories on here some dealers are willing to steal your pre order from you

ask for a free car cover or something and the dealer ropes the car off.

If they suck like Chapman Chevy in Philadelphia PA (asking $4k over) hell no if they are cool, they owe you one, and if they would have been up front they won't owe me anything 2 days is not bad but it better be kept closed and no scratches
remember it's yours already

Why can't people just be honest anymore. It would be an easy answer he was straight forward with you. If what you say is 100% accurate then I would want the car now.
If there might be a slight variation in what you might have heard then I would leave it but have them agree to the detail end of it.

No way in hell will my car sit at the dealership one second after it gets there and the papers are signed..I don't want ANYONE messing with my car in the showroom..I mean..all it will take is for one person to lean against it and bam! first scratch..If for some reason I did allow it..I would take the keys so no one could get inside..But I'm kinda a b$tch like that...

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I agree with them needing to compensate you somehow for using your car like that instead of letting you have it right away.

Man...why didn't he just come out and tell you? WTF? These dealers are holding everyone hostage. Ask him "What's in it for me?" This is why I won't buy a car in VA. Mine is coming from Berger Chevy in Grand Rapids, MI. I can't even believe that you took the time to post this question when you could be getting Rock Star status NOW!!!

I can't tell you how many chics have already asked to get in my car when it arrives. :5thgenvert:

Dude, do yourself a favor and get the car. Better yet, just show up at the dealer and tell him you changed your mind and you want the car now and something unexpected came up but you need the car now.

If he was not up front with you to begin with then why should you?

Amazing.

I think you answered your own question in your post.

They told you they were going to put it in the showroom for a few days.

They didn't say hey, would it be cool if we put it in the showroom for a few days?

Don't want to get you paranoid but from some of the other posts I've seen I'd be afraid they were shopping it around trying to sell it out from under you at more than mrsp.

Once I told him the Recall should only take a few minutes, he then stated, "well, we would like to put it on the showroom floor for a day or two so other interested customers can actually see an SS".

What are your thoughts?

Dealer has been great so far; what should I do?

What did they tell you when you asked for supplier pricing? I would do it for a couple days if they gave me supplier pricing, which I qualified for. If not, I would need to decline the request.

Sign the papers, take the keys, and leave it in the showroom for 2 days. Use it as leverage for favors later! Also make sure it gets detailed!
