I went to a local dealer here in San Diego and was offered $29,000. trade-in on a ZL1. Some one had ordered the ZL1 and backed out it it. Even after the 29,000. I would owe 39,000. before financing (ouch). I had to pass because I would be sleeping in the dog house. It was one beaufiful car.

Kelley value on my 03 Cobra was $21k. Dealership offered $14k and only bc I work here.

Hell, my 2012 1LT/RS stickered for $30k...with 200 miles on it the value had already cratered to $24k. It's the second fastest depreciating car I've owned behind a 2011 Chevy Impala. Bought that one for $25k, sold it one month later for $13k. Resale is a major reason i have avoided Chevy in the past. I saw all these articles about how the Camaro holds good value. Well, as far as I'm concerned, I would have to disagree so far.

This is also why I call on these SS traders that claim they stayed at the same payment more or less after trading in their barely used V6. Either theres a bunch of 84 month loans going on, some SERIOUS downpayments, or theres alot of poker-faced

I vote for the latter.

hey, i traded my v6 in for a SS. Got the SS for free because of how badass the v6 was.

My dad traded in his 01 Chevy silverado with 110k miles back in 07. Gave him 10k for it. He went and bought an 07 silverado and his monthly payments were less than what he was paying for his 01. I know truck vs cars, but still

$68,000 for a ZL1? I thought they were $55,000.

I went into my dealership a few days ago and they were giving me 37,500 for my 2011 2ss/rs 11,000km/ 6,800 miles... It's crazy a 2012 TF3 2ss/rs camaro runs 75,000 out the door in canada.

NADA has two separate "books". One is available to the public and is what most people refer to when they mention NADA. This book is generalized and values cars higher then what a dealership will give you. Dealers don't use this book.

The other is called "Black book". This book is the one all dealers use and is updated weekly with auction prices of cars in their immediate area and what surrounding dealers are paying for cars in trade in. Black book values are what you can expect to get when you trade in your vehicle.

i don't care what book you look at, you can always haggle your trade in value.

The biggest thing on here is "my payment is the same or less after my trade in!" ya that's because instead of owing your payment for 36 months they stretched it back out to 72 or even worse 84 months.. That's not something to be excited about

Sooooo true! I went in and looked at a trade and my payment would have went up 160/month with my payment plan, but if I stretched it to 84 or 96 months then it would have been "manageable", but I said screw that, I'm not gonna go in for a 7-8 year "deal"... Plus it would have added 20,000 to my tab.
