And, as I also said, I only know when I was TOLD it was at 3300, not when it ACTUALLY went to 3300, so for all I know it was there for 2 weeks before it moved and I was at 2500 a month ago. I just don't know.

I'm waiting for the end of the week to call my dealer again when, hopefully, the car is built and I can get a VIN#. At that point I'll ask them for an order history so I can see the actual dates that everything happened. For now the dates in my sig are when I found out the car had advanced based on what could be referred to as sketchy information at best sometimes. I've actually found the GM line to be of more help than the dealer, unfortunately.

i really hope thats true for all of oursakes. hopefully no more 4-6 week 3000 wait. so far i'm at 3000 8 days and counting!

.............congrats if it is true!

Have you called the the Customer Sevice number to see if there's any movement? I know of at least one other person on these boards whose car was at 3400 forever, and then it showed up for delivery without him getting a code update. Give em a call, can't hurt. That's what they're there for right? I called 866-790-5700, said "No" when asked for an extension number, then "Chevrolet" when asked the brand. Had to wait a few minutes on hold and PRESTO! had my answer. Very nice people to deal with BTW, I think they may be Canadian too. Just a hunch as it seemed some of them may have had a very slight French Canadian accent.

yep, tried 3 different times. dealer tried once as well..............no go.

so either they're really not telling or i'm destined to be at 3000 with no TPW for quite awhile!

That is correct. With the looming news coming June 1, who knows?

well RPO, thx once again for the info...its just sad i get all this info from you and not my dealer... is there a way i could find out what my dealers guide number is besides asking them? cuz that isnt working for me...they just avoid the question totally which is making me feel this way... they originally told me they had 10 and i was within their num.ber..but i think it was all bullshit from the start now... if i have to wait till sept-dec to get my car when i had the understanding that i was a pre-oreder and would be driving my camaro sometime this summer, is just plain out ****ed up! if they would have told me this shit i would have never ordered from them..which is obviously why they didnt tell me shit... i need to find iout real freakin soon if im outside their guide cuz im not takin delivery anytime after august... i mean seriously...accept delivery of a rwd car with 426 hp right at the begining of winter? let it sit till april of 2010...i might as well wait till then to order a 2011!!! i just wish i could afford the Skyline GT-R...i may just lease a 370z...this sucks cuz i really really want an ABM Camaro =/

This is all covered at chevylaunch.com for all dealers to see, and had been there since July 2008:

If bona fide sold customer orders are submitted in excess of the production guide number, will additional shipments be provided to cover these orders?

No. The goal of the production guide was to provide a preview of expected estimated shipments. The option of submitting orders in excess of the assigned production guide number is solely that of the dealer. Future allocation will be based on a fair and equitable equation, not on the number of sold orders submitted to GM.

tim, we ordered from the same Dealer and we seem to be getting the same runaround from them. I saw your post, called the GM hotline and talked to a woman who put me on hold and all she could confirm was that my car was in the system to be produced, , no TPW and that they were gathering parts, etc to build my car! HUH? I ordered 10/15. Maybe because you ordered an SS you got your info, I just don't know anymore..

I can't answer for what other dealers will or will not do. I just wrote a deal with one of the forum members here. He knows my guide number, how many orders are in front of him, an approx. month of delivery, etc. I also showed him the current orders that we have and the corresponding deal folders that are numbered.

The bottom line is if the car is more important than anything else, you have to stick it out and deal with however the dealer is going to treat you. I know I only give my money to people I like and trust.
