KMP- have any of you guys that are infinitely smarter than I am done a side by side comparison between the 25mm mace and the 1" black ice? I've been on the fence since Tracy said he was working on the 1". I'll have to look at the dyno later; I know the tq difference on the low end of the mace had been a topic of much conversation. But a 14hp loss at peak is rather surprising and could be a deal breaker.

Follow up on my last post...

Tracy said that the tests we done without matching the heads....so maybe it could be possible that some turbulance came into play....but maybe not.

we'll we've had a comparison between the RX 3/8" and the MACE 1", but not both 1" spacers versus each other. The ONLY difference is that one is gasket matched (the RX) and the other is not and I wonder if that really makes a difference or not?

Just ordered the works from Tracy for this reason. CNC TB, RX polished & ported IM, and 3/8" Iceolator. The loss of power at the top end is not a fluke or tune issue especially if it keeps repeating itself on the 1 inch spacer.

The black Ice-olator is awesome, get it, period! The best bang for your performance buck, hands down. I noticed its gains more than I noticed the gains from my $450.00 CAI and $700. high flow cats.

It also compliments well with the ported TB and ported IM.

Does anyone remember what the gains for the Rx 3/8 iceolator were over stock? I am now even more impressed with Mace's Ported Manifold because it yielded at 30+ hp gain over stock at peak with the 25mm insulator. Makes me wonder what type of peak gain is possible with the 3/8 iceolator and the Mace Manifold?

I believe it was 20hp / 22tq but that was off peak.

Chances are you would get almost the same power from both

The Ice-olator plus ported IM (from mace) im not sure if they have been tested together yet. Like you said the mace gasket and IM tested at about 32hp/30tq.

I would imagine that the 3/8 ice-olator + ported IM together would yield similar results.

Either way, quite impressive for simple, low cost bolt ons. However after tomorrow mace will be no longer offering the ported IM. I believe though that RX still will offer it.

I believe it's after Sunday btw.

But yea, I agree. They will probably yield similar results. Luckily, I got my manifold order in on time

Me too. I ordered Mace's Ported Manifold on Tuesday. I remember reading something from the big rx iceolator thread that if the manifold was ported you need to do port matching with the iceolator. Is this true?

I believe the rx is already gasket matched so no. The mace will have to be gasket matched but bmore is offering free gasket matching on mace insulators as well as free re-install on the manifold.

After these results I am probably going to go Rx 3/8 iceolator with my Mace Ported Manifold. No matching, no worries.
