Well, I think only 1 person was talking about the 2012 ZL1, and the only mechanical difference between the 2010 & 2012 SS is that the 2012 has a slightly different suspension tuning, which would have a minimal effect on the things you asked about

Cars were just not as fast/quick in the 1960s as people think. My 2008 Toyota Sequoia SUV, stock, can beat nearly all muscle cars from the 1960s.
