4-5 coats. When and if you get some and apply it you will see that 3 costs look like enough but actually it isn't. When you are trying to take off 3 coats of plasti dip it will break off into smaller pieces which will be a longer time and hassle when removing them. When you apply 4-5 coats(trust me big difference) you can remove the plasti dip in one big piece.

Home Depot has it too, only in black though. Dipyourcar.com has other colors available.

For you guys who are doing your wheels, what kind of prep are you doing before laying down the plasti-dip? Just cleaning only?

I'm thinking about making a pinstripe on all my wheels with it and I was wondering what kind of prep you guys were going through.

All I did was clean them up good with soap and water. That was a couple months ago, and they still look great. I think I used a little over 3 cans.

Dude .. That's one of the smartest things I have seen someone do! ..

+1

I've got one in a half cans in the garage, don't wanna get halfway through and have to go get more... although it may be kinda funny driving up to Home Depot with only 2 or 3 wheels done!
