That's obviously too high. From reading other threads, it shouldn't take much more time than an oil change. $90 is about an hour of labor.

Take it at the $90 after the first free change. That $90 rate is for the SS, it will be a few months before the rates are adjusted up for the ZL1. After the adjustment the rate for an oil change will be around $130 due to the extra labor.

I changed the engine oil and rear diff fluid at 1500 miles. I have a lift in my garage so doing it myself is a piece of cake. GM says to change the Rear Diff fluid prior to taking to the track and then change it after 24hrs of track usage.

Did a double check not 6 hrs. Owners manual page 9-7;

We recommend that the rear axle fluid be drained and refilled with new fluid after every
24 hours of racing or competitive driving.

But I will change after each track day; easy enough to do and not that expensive.

I would reccomend changing any lubricating fluids, it only makes sense that there might be micro-chips in the fluid after the break-in.

Great. That makes it easier. I'm changing mine at 1500 along with the oil. I'll see what the dealer wants to change the diff fluid before I do.

Dealerships usually flat rate and then eat you alive on labor. they have your car for 1 hour and bill you for 3 because that was flat rate for the combined jobs.

Very easy....ensure oil is warmed up. Drive car for a few miles.
TOOLS NEEDED - 3/8"drive racket and 2" extension
1. Put pan under lower plug
2. Remove upper plug - 3/8" extension fits plugs
3. Remove lower plug
4. Let oil drain
5. Wipe off magnets in plugs of debris.
6. After oil stops draining install lower plug
7. Fill with Diff Oil 2.1 qts
8. Install top plug
9. Drive it like you stole it..........
