I like the Sky and the sister Solstace, and it's a shame GM didn't preserve them under another brand. However, a ZL1 is a much more expensive car to operate in terms of cost, maintenancse, wear items like tires, depreciation, and especially fuel. The choice is up to you and there's no guarantee that the ZL1 will survive another 2 years. I think the reason that your dealer's car has been sitting is it costs way more than the average buyer can afford, and this currently affects resale/trade-in values. It's definately a poor financial decision to buy one, but most members in this forum didn't buy it for that reason. It's aways a bad idea to go to a dealer even just looking at new cars, espeiclaly when you don't have to have a new car.

Or you could put an LSA in the Sky and have the most bad @ss car on the road. 600 or 700hp in a 3000lbs car, if you don't have fun driving that, I don't know what would be fun. Just about any LS motor will drop right into a Sky or Solstice.
A Camaro will always just be a Camaro. Kinda like the Corvettes, there's just too many of them. Nobody notices a Camaro or a Vette, but park a Sky or a Solstice on a main street of any town and watch the reactions. There is nothing on the road like a Sky. Yeah, they're impractical as far as room, but a bone stock Redline will walk away from an LS3 Camaro. With that LNF, 350-400hp/trq is super easy to get to, and 500whp/500wtq is not a big deal out of an LNF. How many cars out there can you daily drive at ~500hp and still get 25mpg? Not to mention a rear wheel drive chassis with a solid frame and normal double wishbone, coil-over suspension. No weird front strut or funky rear suspension setups on those cars. Keep the Sky, get a Camaro if you want but don't sell the Sky. Who cares what it might be worth someday, like you've said, they're just hella fun to drive. |

I owned two Skys the 351st one made I had ordered in june of 2005 and drove off the lot in march of 2006 and then a 2008 one. I had a lot of first year problems with the 2007 but none with the 2008. Every time I see one I still think they are so good looking. The styling will be timeless in my opinion. If it wasn't for the cramped interior space and super tiny trunk I would still have one. If there were any way to keep the Sky I would hold on to it if I were you.
