Yea that's true it really is like a year and a half of open line.

Over 100,000 I hope. I would like to see them open another line where the GM truck line closed. Think it's in same facility.

They have already got over 12k built in a little under two months. Plus, the first month wasnt even at full tilt on the production line.

Please don't flame me but here is my logic.

I HOPE they sell 100K+ but my thoughts on it below.

20k sold already to the camaro purists and the old timers like me who love the retro ala 1969.

Now the rest will go to the purists looking for the good deals after the hype is over.

NOW comes the bad part...........

And again MY thoughts and opinion on this. DO NOT FLAME!!

1. rear wheel drive will hurt this car in the northeast which is a big market.

2. the guts, when a customer shops for a car the guts is not on par with others in its price range. SURE the car has IRS but the average buyer don't know IRS from a dozen egg's.

3. The vew, some people won't like the visabilty.

I agree for the most part. The sad thing is that the media has killed RWD cars. With winter tires they drive just as good if not better than a FWD car. Ive driven both and the RWD car was far easier to drive and far more predictible. People just need more driving education. How many people do you see wreck in the snow just because they havent been trained or know how to react to what their car is doing?

Id rather have my tires pushing me than pulling and steering my car.

I'll have to agree with there Bobby...I'd love to see the car be a hit but just don't think it will be, at least the hit GM wants/needs (100K).

I figure we are at only a year left for MY10 since Jun/Jul 2010 will end this MY. The figures now are around 18K or so...that leaves a year to get 80K cars out there...just don't see that happening.

I figure somewhere in the range of 40K to 60K will be built for MY10. Add another 40K - 50K for MY11. By MY12 the vert is around but numbers drop off still and under 40K are sold...then by MY13, the platform will need updated and not sure GM will do that...

...get'em while you can is what I think!!

I also want to add, although 15K sounds like alot for pre-order I really think there should have been many more.

Ballparking here...

10K for 4th gen purists. 5K for the oldtime era guys like ME...

Is that like 1% of all 4th gens sold?

Ya I know the economy but still.........

How many people knew about the preordering though?? Not very many as GM didnt advertise worth crap.

15k preorders on an car that probably averages $30k that nobody has driven is pretty damn good IMHO. Not many people would put that kind of coin down without driving a car.

Prius is also sold in Japan, Europe and North American market. However, they only sold a little over 8k in April.
