shoot, i'm running 10-11psi (depending on air temp in TX) on my LS1 with a TVS and make just under 540. if you're doing less than that on an L99, you're safe (assuming it's still a good tune). you'll also need to retune after adding the meth kit because it acts the same as adding extra fuel, so if you don't change stuff, you're gonna run really rich when you spray. i'm planning on running meth, too, but not being dependent on it for more power - just using it to cool the IATs a little. that's the safest route

How will you tune for meth when you just want to use it for cooling?

I guess alot more water?? If your gonna run meth its either gonna run rich or you gonna add more timing... I can remember my dads friend getting a Alky control put on his Car YEARS ago and the guy traveled from Flordia to Ga to put it on .I dont think ive ever heard of one of his kits failing.... Snow, cooling mist, Aem Ive heard of all of those failing. Your dad just needs a big ole A2w.

David,

You are not looking at the whole picture. We gained nearly 70lbtq across the board with your car. Without a cam in the car we are spinning that blower faster to get more power. A camshaft would raise efficiency of the blower and help power. Without the cam you can see when we are spinning the blower faster we are making better power and torque across the board although it may not be the peak gain you are looking for. You car made a peak of 490 and I backed it off a degree or two. Your 527 was not backed off at all plus it was 104degrees in the shop. Also I couldn't push it any further because we were running into belt slip. You just changed to the cog setup, so why not let me run it on the dyno again for you....NO Charge.

i ain't a tuner, but from what i understand from talking to a couple of them, if you just spray meth without compensating for it, it's gonna run way rich because methanol is just another fuel. so long as you don't start adding more timing to where it knocks without meth or lean it out to where it's gonna burn pistons if it don't spray - that's the difference.

I am happy with the tune. I did pick up about 40 hp and 40ft lbs of torque. My question was how much of that came from the increased boost and how much gain if any from the meth? I see the adds and statements on how much gains are made from meth...Just trying to educated muself I know a cam wil ad HP but I am not interested @ this time..Tooooo much money...Looking for a deal on a stall right now. I will see more gains from that and cost less.

typical guessing point is about 20hp per pound of boost, but gains all depend on the tune. theoretically, you add a couple psi but pull enough timing and end up not making any more power
