Boss is just an option beyond track pack so compatible to 1LE. I think GM is holding back Z-28 till they have a real winner.

Not the same course at VIR as the 1LE.

Can't really say anything either way until we see a magazine compare the two head to head, on the same day, same weather, same drivers.

I was seriously considering a Boss when I bought my Camaro but the ford dealers were overpricing the $%^& out of them and the chevy dealer made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I'm just glad that chevy is trying to make something comparable to the boss.... now if only I had been more patient I could have had a 1LE!

Last time I looked you couldn't get a Mustang GT with Boss package. You order a Mustang Boss, just like you order a Mustang Shelby Cobra not a Mustang GT Shelby Cobra.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Rodgers Chevrolet 1LE RPO package isn't a Z28 trial ballon, to see how the Camaro faithful react.

I think the Z/28 as outlined in the Z/28 forum would be pretty awesome if GM was willing to build it. Are they willing? Probably not.

Shall I post the order form? The Boss package is a add/delete upgrade. The LS an additional ad.

Does the LS come with DOT-legal slicks for the track? I can't remember if they were an option or standard, but I thought I recall the splitter is not legal for street use (though I don't really see the thought in that...). I know the LS has "Competition" tires, but if they aren't for street use, it's not going to be a fair comparison, if that's what we're talking about.

It's still impressive, no doubt.

To make it a Boss, you have to select the Boss to begin with and then you have the option to add the LS package. Do the "Build it Now" on Ford's website and you'll see what I mean.
I thought so, too.

the boss is it's own Model, it is not a option package on a mustang GT.

I know you have a boss, so I do feel weird trying to argue with you, but the Boss is not a option package.

Here are option packages you can get on a 2013 Mustang GT premium

Package 400A- std equipment
Package 401A - premier trim with color accents
Package 402A - California Special

Performance packages, you either get the

Mustang GT Track Package ( engine cooler, radiator, performance pads, torsen diff, brembo brakes, 19 wheels, summer tires) This is closest you can get a GT to a Boss

or

Mustang GT Brembo Brake Package

Other packages
Recaro Seats
Electronics packages

Those are your main options

I don't see how the 1LE could be compared to the mustang gt track pack. It really isn't a true track upgrade since the shocks, struts, sway bars and springs stay the same. The boss/LS should and probably is what Chevy pitted the 1LE against

What ever the 1LE is, I want to see it run against the BOSS 302 LS. That's what I'm waiting for.
