seems like it would be easy to implement and you'd think the cost savings in reduced customer service calls would pay for it.

The question is WHY? Why do only dealers have access to it?

Only if they are gonna become a custom order company.

And really... that might not be a bad idea to make build to order.

With the 3M Wrapping and Epson colors every can could also have it's own custom paint too. Or not.

Just remember they where a LOT company. By selling tons of mass produced. Enter the best Chevy sports coupe of it's size and you have a mess. New internet age of buy it now vs old school GM. The end... a rebirth of something new.

it would take the power out of the dealers hands if we got the rights. I mean think about how much we could save on cars if we could order them straight off the internet. But dealers would be out of business and taking cars in for a service would be a pain.

Get rid of the dealers then. Just have service center.

Dealer is a webcam and a guy in a call center (that's how my bank processes loans now).

Maxx headroom is the new Dealer.... part of the new Census Supercomputer that's in the White House basement. But on 2013 Maxx becomes self aware and makes the Camaro's into terminating transformers.

Ok.. back to real human dealers then.
