I drive at least 700 miles per week. V8 payments are too high for me. I'm having fun modding to my preference. I have nothing to prove to others.

I've test driven the SS more than once too- and my wife's told me to just get one about a dozen times when I'm in the middle of a mod!

But I'm unimpressed with them. The steering is heavy and the handling is sloppy. The cars drives (IMHO) like it weighs alot more than the V6.

Maybe it's because of all the mods, but the V6 for me is just alot more fun to drive.

I woundnt consider a trade up at all. My camaro was basically my dream car. Sure I would have loved a V8 but seeing as I got the car as a 15 year old my dad couldn't justify the other 10k for a loaded 2SS and also did not want to give a V8 to a teen driver. I am more than happy with what I have and really my camaro has to much sentimental value to me to trade up. I will one day own another 5th gen but only if I can keep my current one. I plan on keeping My 10 V6 for the rest of my life.

Exactly! I drive 700-1000 miles per week, figure that out in a SS.
I have other Camaros at home to have heart wrenching speed and torque in.
This one is for commuting and stress relief on the way home from a long day in the retail trade!
Nothing to prove to anyone.

What it came down to was I could buy the SS and with the high monthly payments not be able to mod as much or I could V6 and to use the extra money play with it more. I wanted to learn to work on a car so I took the V6.

Well I traded a 2010 V6 for a 2012 V6, I have all I need in the way of power that the V6 has. Speed and the need to hear the rumble of a V8 is no longer a priority for me. I put style, comfort, and overall driving pleasure as my needs and wants. The 2012 Camaro Convertible 1LT fulfills my every need and want in a car.

Most modding the v6 probably are tempted with a higher starting horsepower, but for me I drive 3000 miles a month. With my mods I have gained good horsepower and the car is plenty quick when I want. I love the fact I have a car that handles as well and is as quick as it is while still getting 30 miles to the gallon hwy. win/win as far as I am concerned. Someday when my kids are out of the house and my driving drops off significantly I see myself in supercharged v8, but for now I couldn't be happier my car.

Well I can't part with mine it part of the family now. I do like the v8 but I would rather build on what I have. I may get a 6 gen v8 and keep my ls. One reason is to be different yes it would be easy to by a SS but with mod fever the warranty will be gone in a year. Instead of buying a SS I choose to go fi hps turbo build in progress. Lscamaro you want go wrong if you choose hps. There will always be faster cars and haters but a true enthusiast enjoys what they have.

Nice meeting you as well. I had a blast, just wish the car was running better.
