Very few people know this, but what your actually smelling is a very rare Camaro Pheromone painstakingly integrated into the 2010 interior. It comes from a long lost shipment of virgin vinyl uncovered in a locked GM warehouse. That vinyl was originally destined to be used in the interiors of the first camaros many, many years ago. GM felt it would be a fitting tribute to recycle that vinyl into the interior trim peices of the 2010 Camaro. What your smelling there is Camaro heritage.

Just pulling your leg......Smell is more likely from the strippers.:

actually, its artificially made, and worked into the interior. They get that smell strait from the fragrance companies, no joke. My family member used to work with the company that develops the smell. Thats why all new cars smell similar even cars with no leather.

edit: wow, my spelling was going crazy for a second.

what you talking about Willis?

That smell is a combination of adhesives, plastic manufacturing, paint, and other things im sure. The reason they smell the same from one car to the next is because all cars are made of this. Some cars that have leather no doubt add its own unique flare to this already existing smell.

With new "green" manufacturing techniques the smell is not as strong and im sure in the future will be none existent. So there are companies trying to replicate it because of this reason but it definitely originated from chemicals and it is still that way in most if not all vehicles today.

I noticed it in the showroom car at the dealer as well, just thought it was something they used to clean the car with. It was unique, not overly pleasant, but not bad either.

Maybe i am the only one who thought of this. When i got my chance to finally sit in a 2010 Camaro(2LT) the first thing that struck me was the smell. it was like no other leather i have ever smelled before. I wish i could have bottled it up and brought it home with me until my 2SS comes in . I have had very little time in foreign cars like BMW or benz with leather. And when i do they are not brand new. But my 06 GMC did not have that smell, neither did my wifes Acadia. Or any other GM, Ford, or dodge i have ever sat in. I think it is what heaven will smell like when i get there. Anyone else notice this or am i going crazy waiting for my car?????

Am I watching Porky's? Is your real name Kim?

Maybe in cars with cloth seats... The smell is the dye drying on the leather. Im not saying that a company doesnt exist to re-create that smell... but its originally from the dye
