Maxie Price in Georgia was just awful. They absolutely refused to remove a door ding on the passenger side. I thought that was just pathetic. I argued with them for a little bit, but they got really pissy about it. Finally I caved. I dropped it. But they kept bringing it up and rubbing it in, rambling on about how much it would inflate the price, and how stupid it would be to finance a door ding.
Then when the girl is going through the OnStar orientation she noticed the ding. She said her job was to make sure the car was perfect, and she would get the ding fixed for me. She found out real quick there was no way in hell the dealer was going to fix the ding. She was pretty shocked. They also kept me there forever. Every ten minutes they would say "we know you have a six hour drive home, so this will just take a minute." Yeah, my wife and I were there eight hours. When the owner came by he interrogated us about our photography business. I almost got the impression that he didn't think we were legit. At first I thought he was just being nice, but then he started asking some very direct questions about our business. It was pretty uncomfortable. Oh and they lied about the mileage. The salesman put me on hold to check the odometer, he confirmed there were 11 miles. When I got there it had 57. Why lie about it? The owner told me one of the salesman took it out for a weekend. Yay. The salesman did get all the stuff out of our trade-in and put it in a box, which I thought was very sweet. |

I went to Captiol Chevy in San Jose CA. A big volume dealership with pretty good selection. They were easy to work with got a good deal.
I should have done some more homework on packages and options, but that was my mistake.

McCurleys in Pasco Washington. No markup, treat you like family, always friendly and helpful. I have bought from them before, and will again. They were somewhat unknowlegable about custom orders so it was a learning process for us both.

I have mixed feelings about my purchase experience. I hit up all my local Chevy dealers via email before I ever talked to a salesman in person. I do my "window shopping" at night when the dealers are closed. I already knew I wanted a 1LT/RS. I wanted either Black or Victory Red. I figured fate would put me in the right one. The dealer I ended up buying from responded to my email the morning after I sent them email, so that was a good sign. I sent him the VIN and mileage for my trade-in, and he said he'd pay it off. I was adamant about that. And looking back on the transaction, I definitely see that they gave me a TON for my trade. The car was only a year old, and in mint condition, but the payoff amount was still pretty hefty. After we came to an agreement on the trade, I wanted to go talk business with my sales guy. He was an older guy, knew a little bit about the Camaro's, but not a ton. I didn't hound him or drill him. I just let him do his job with the in's and out's of the car. When we got inside to talk numbers, they wouldn't budge on the price, and the APR was just so-so. After a few back and forth's with the finance manager, I ended up walking... After sleeping on it, I woke up the next morning and just decided I couldn't be without that car. I emailed my sales guy, we worked on the numbers just a little bit, and I caved and pulled the trigger. I ended up spending a little more than I wanted to, but I absolutely don't regret it one bit.
My service after the sale has been less than stellar, but acceptable. I've had some email questions, and they were replied to eventually. So really, nothing terrible happened by any means, but my wife and I bought two new Mazda's last year from a small local Mazda dealer, and the service and deals there were truly way above average. So maybe I'm just spoiled from that experience that we had just a year ago. Dealer experience aside, I am totally in love with my Camaro. The dealer I got it from was the only one in town with the exact vehicle I wanted, anyway. So I guess it was fate. :P |

i went to 4 different dealerships, looking for a m6ss in black and couldnt find one so i settled for a auto but at every dealership i got weird looks because i was young and wanted to by a 38000 car, until i landed to a vet who noticed my base decal and said r u in the service and i said yes, took care of me, told everyone to back off, sticker price was like 38400 0r something like that and then he told me about taxes and all that good stuff, i told him i had 10gs for a down payment then he knocked off fees and what not, so pretty long story short i ended up paying 38,100 out the door for a new car, pretty ba if u ask me so i give him, not the dealership because they can **** themselves a 8

Hertrich Chevy and GMC of Easton MD did a aoutstanding job getting me into a 2012 45th 2SS MN6 coupe and out of my 2011 A6 2SS. my total loss on the trade was 500 dollars less than what I paid, they gave me invoice plus rebates to include an additional 750 for military. My fiance rate was in the 2 percent range, what more can I say, great Job.

If I could assign negative points I would. First of all the CEO of the company that owned the dealership I bought my Camaro from is a personal friend of my father.
So I had just commissioned into the AF and I decided to reward myself with a brand new 2011 2SS/RS when I arrived at my first duty station. Well I get there and despite them telling their CEO that it was ready to go and all I had to do was drive it off the lot, they SOLD MY CAR. So I was obviously irrate and had it resolved quickly, but it still took a week for them to find a similar model that was 200 miles away and drive it to their dealership. I took it home (without having the black stripes it was supposed to have on it) and was told to bring it back within a week to have the stripes put on. Well it took them two weeks to get the stripes and then when I finally go to pick my car up they tell me they have bad news. They "accidently" put white stripes on my car, then they try and convince me that, it looks good and thats what I wanted on my Camaro anyways. Which if you look at my avatar it's obvious thats not the case. Well it took them two more weeks to get the correct stripes and put them on my car to FINALLY have it the way I wanted it (over a month after I should have had MY car). So then I send my Dad the paperwork that I signed and the final breakdown of what I got charged. Well my Dad is an auditor for GM and was PISSED when he saw the paperwork. I got charged about $2000 more in fees than a normal individual should and they tried to avoid giving me the GM family member discount. So he decided to Audit their dealership personally to "fix" their mistakes. Needless to say after the dealership was audited, he found they had been ripping military people off for at least the last five years. They were pocketing military people's discounts as their own personal bonuses. Being that the CEO was a personal friend of his, he ended up having 20+ people fired. So in the end justice was finally served.

I'm still waiting for my car to arrive (but admittedly it has only been four days). I haven't gotten a real warm and fuzzy feeling about my deal so far though. My dealer did not have a Camaro, was not going to be getting a Camaro in, would not work with me to arrange a test drive of a Camaro. I had to look after the test drive when I passed through a nearby city while traveling for business. While away on the business trip I finally decided that I was going to make the purchase and concluded which model and options I wanted. I called my dealer to see what he could find on his computer and he blew me off. Admittedly, I'd already gotten him to do this once before and did not end up concluding the purchase so I can kind of understand his disinterest. I ended up finding the car I wanted myself using GMs crappy search website.
If you've read this far you are probably wondering why I dealt with my local dealership at all. While I have been getting good service there for the last several years on my Z-24 Cavalier, they are well known for being a major pricks when people try to get non-locally purchased vehicles serviced there. Unfortunately, the nearest alternate GM dealership is over 100 miles away. In the end the deal included having the car shipped across two provinces and I still paid only MSRP. The finance deal sucked but was within my budget. I ended up paying a little bit of a premium intrest rate because I made them deal with my personal bank. Would I recommend dealing with these guys? I'm kind of ambivelent at this point. The sales service has sucked badly so far but I know the service department is pretty good. Maybe I'll feel better once my new toy arrives. |
