Around $85 for two yrs here but it will not renew unless you pay you town car taxes
about $500 yr.

That's ridiculous. I let the tags on my truck expire by 4 or 5 years and the fee was well under $200 if I recall. The tags are good for like 4 years.

What makes you think they are all that much cheaper here in Alabama? Maybe you'll save $100 or so but not a whole lot.
