All went well. I re-wired the wires. Taped them out of the way. Made the remote turn on longer, etc. And now the alternator whine is gone.
I played with the settings a little and will probably continue to do so in the future. I took out the resistor as well - the chimes and blinker volume is fine. The only problem is that when I push the voice command button, and she goes "Please say a command." That is very freaking loud. (this is the MyLink 2013 w/nav) I'm not sure if a change will be needed to harness for newer cars or what to take care of this. ![]() And my caliper job went beautifully!

Pur3vil, That was a great write-up with lots of information. I appreciate you taking the time as I am sure that it may also give Sqwirtle some information that could be useful. I know that when I do self installations I like to try to read and take in as much info as possible, even if I don't use it all when I am doing the install and run into an installation it is nice to have a little background. Thank you again. Rodney |

Sqwirtle,
That looks great, the speaker and amp and the caliper job. |

Just a quick comment This thread came just in time. I'll be installing my amp tomorrow so now I will need to ask about tuning the amp. Thanks
