That being said, most Porsche drivers are rich boys that can't drive worth a damn. You might have a small chance. Very small chance.

Chip on your shoulder? Most people who drive a camaro can't drive worth a damn either.

Chip? No. Just speaking from experience. Of course most people that drive cars in general don't drive worth a damn.

I embarrassed and angered a Carerra S up at Road America. Road his arse through turns and had to wait on him to allow me to pass him, then left him like he was standing still.

I'm a little more modded than you though.

Just race him and find out, it's going to be on the driver in both cases. Also I recommend a few gal of race gas mixed in with 93, this will keep your car from pulling timing. It works for me, on the stock and dyno tune, my car has more mid range power and I have proved it on the strip. Gas now is very inconsistent and you never know how old it is, I put 3 to 4 gals of a 100 octane.

Weird, most HPDE events I go to here I see more Posrches there than I do Mustangs and Camaros combined.

BadSupreme70, We don't see each other much, but will meet at the track the middle of next month to settle the road course question of who's faster. Its not a rivalry between us, but were both very competitive.

HumanWiki, you are defineitely more modded and experienced on the road course. I will do my best.

Coyotekiller, while he does fit the description of being a rich boy, but he is also an exceptionally talented individual. He is both extremely intelligent and physically coordinated. Damn, I am starting to feel completely over matched.

Don't worry man, the Camaro is a GREAT performing car! It does not get the credit it deserves, you get good behind the wheel of that thing and I promise you will have more then a few people suprized I don't know how long you have owned it, but it will take some time. At the strip keep your rpms up on the launch, release the clutch fast without dumping it. Do a good burnout to get the tires sticky and look for 1.9 60s, that should be were you want to get it and get some good times out of your combo.

Thanks Bad70Supreme. It should be a blast on the road course either way.

As a side not, I will be driving a Buick GS 455 in November at the NHRA Las Vegas NHRA Divisional. It runs a mid 11's like your Olds, should be fun running that torque monster.

Drove a 2010 Carerra S the 385hp version and it was fast but an SS like the 1LE should hang with it. Our Camaros also really has high grip on turns. Also 997 911s aren't as easy to drive as people think. I think he has a good chance on a road course. This isn't a GT3 or GT2.

First time on a road course? I think that both of you need to dial the competition factor way back and go there with the attitude that you've got plenty to learn. There aren't going to be any Trans-Am scouts out there looking for fresh talent.

Forget that your car is modified. Seriously.

As long as it is reasonably well balanced handlingwise, a newbie driver is always going to be the limiting factor even on bone-stock wheels and tires.

My guess is that whoever ends up with the better lap time is going to be the guy who impresses his instructor by being smoother and paying better attention to direction.

Do either of you have any autocross experience? If so, I'd tip the scale toward that individual.
