that is scary, glad your okay.
the only thing I've had is someone following me, kept on driving till i entered the parking lot of a police station, it was scary and i was ready to call 911 and agree with my parental units this car is not lucky.

I don't worry about you but carrying around an unloaded pistol is pretty much useless.

Keep your .380 locked and loaded, what if you had no warning?

WOW I'm glad your OK too.

That never happens to me most people assume I have a gun (that is the only good thing about that stereotype , unless its a cop that wants you to stop then that the bad thing about that stereotype :( .)

Your story made me think of this.

Maybe you should change your screen to Miss Evelyn.

I was going to type the same thing about an unloaded pistol. I prefer single/double action pistols with a dec0cker so I can confidently carry with one in the chamber and only have to have one hand to get to ready-state.

Local laws may make that iffy, though. I live in gun-(very)-friendly AZ.

**Note, I know you weren't messing with the lady, your story just reminded me of mine.

I learned the hard way not to mess with people on the road. I made the mistake of straddling two lanes while coming up to a construction lane closure to block cars from riding the closing lane all the way to the end. I saw a car coming and a gravel hauler was trying to block him but he got around the hauler before the truck could really block, so I made it a point to block him so he couldn't cut everyone off. We were only going 35 mph at most - nothing dangerous or trying to cause an accident, but when he would try to go around me I moved my car closer to the shoulder so he couldn't get next to me or around me.

Needless to say, the guy was irate and had a case of road rage. I finally let him in in front of me and he brake checked me three or four times, got next to me and started calling me a bunch of racial terms (I'm white, he wasn't) and how he was going to kill me. I told him that he made his point and that I was sorry and to calm down, but he was too far gone by that point. I knew I was at fault and I pissed him off so I stayed calm and stayed back from him, which I think the fact that I wasn't reacting was making him even more upset. It came to a boil when we got into some heavier traffic and he actually threw his car in park and came running at me in my car. He was yelling at me to get out of the car so he could kill my cracker ass and blah blah blah. One of the cars driving by yelled a racial slur at him which distracted him enough that I was able to floor it and get out of the situation.

The thing I remember most is looking over at his car and seeing his 4 year old son in the back of the car watching his dad acting like such an idiot. Needless to say, no matter how much it annoys me or pisses me off when I see some jackass that thinks it's OK for him to cut everyone off instead of merging into traffic, I keep my cool and don't mess around with them anymore. I'm just thankful the guy didn't have a fun... with all the murders in Detroit, seems like that's how road rage situations end in our area.

Your story also reminded me of another story that was in the Detroit news a few weeks ago -- a guy in a silver Trans Am cut a lady off so he could get in the right lane to turn into a gas station. He turns into the gas station and the lady tailgates him in there. He parks, she parks, and then she charges over to him to chew him out. They don't know who threw the first punch, or at least didn't when it was in the news, but inevitably it turned into a slug fest. The lady got him good - he had scratches and such all over him so she was NOT 100% innocent, but he really beat her up and even kicked her while she was down.

He's now in jail, she's recovering. All that because she thought it was OK to follow him into the gas station and confront him.

Wow! I'm sorry that happened to you! I have a hot head but I know when enough is enough and to keep safe. If this happened to me I probably would have flipped her off and floored it. You did the right thing by calling the cops and getting out of there. Who knows what she would have done if she stayed behind you.

Probably the biggest road-rage incident I've had happen like this, luckily not in my Camaro but in my G6 was when some jack-rabbit was tailgating me when I was in the center lane of the road doing 2mph over and both the right & left lane were wide open. I just did a slight brake check, not even enough to slow my car, just enough to do the lights. Next thing I know, he gets in the left lane, floors it around me then slams on his breaks till we're at 20mph (we were going 47mph). I honestly feel lucky that I had the awareness at 6am to stop my car from hitting his and lucky that there was no one behind me. I laid on my horn and honked, flicked him off. He then floors it and does 90mph down the road. At first I floored it to go after him but then cooled down and said I don't want to die lol. Still am looking out for that plate and silver Nissan Xterra, the guy was old too...

Thanks for posting this. I've thought numerous times of doing that and it annoys me to no end that people do this in traffic. If everyone stayed in line, it would move so much freaking faster!

in my youth I had a bad arse wanna be pull a gun on me, like an idiot I laughed in his face, with age I have realized that was pretty stupid. you never know what kind of person your dealing with. You did the right thing, very wise moves. stay safe and live to love your Camaro and family a day longer! idiots are easily forgotten about, no use to give them the benefit if you don't have to. Must admit that the thought of a pretty young lass carrying a .38 is kind of refreshing...LOL
