Sat in both and the leather is by far more comfortable in my opinion. The cloth just wasn't doing it for me. Cloth was way too plain for my taste. BUT get what you can afford. I went up from a 1SS to a 2SS for the leather seats and connectivity package.

I like the look of both, but prefer the leather more. I have to say that I really like the cloth, though. I like it better than the last generation. I can't comment on differences in the cloth since I've only seen V6s in my area.

Sat in both and sure glad I did.
I like the leather MUCH better and I was
surprised at that! I've always purchased cloth.

Above all else, get what you can afford! But if you can afford both, I'd say 2SS for the leather and other goodies Between my truck and the Camaro, I don't plan to buy another vehicle for at least 10 years, so I treated myself to the 2SS.

Never really liked leather. Being cold wont be a problem due to the heated seat, but you can bet in the summer its going to heat up. And the problem with leather it does get cracks etc in it. And if you have to replace it, its going to cost you. Although Ill admit it looks nice. I just dont think its worth the price.

The wife's Accord is the top end model...leather, sunroof, power everything...

My '10 Camaro will be the top end model...leather, power everything, halos/hids, 20" rims...

no one will argue that the leather in the camaro looks great. Personaly I would prefer a more practical fabric to cover my seats. Unless you are in Hawaii leather is always too hot or too cold except for 1 month out of the year, It requires conditioning constantly if you want it to remain in good condition, and usually will start cracking in the areas your ARSE touches.

For me it was a no brainer to get cloth. Unfortunately I wanted most of the extras as well, but after i looked at the extras and the cost difference and weighed the pros and the cons I went with the 1SS.

My thought was this, I can add the Boston stereo as a factory option. Also i can add the Auto Start and USB features from GMPP and would have probably went with an aftermarket trim anyway in the long run. This leaves me missing out on only the, on star navigation, bluetooth and the radio controls on the steering wheel.

The Boston stereo cost $500.00. I can purchase the Auto Start for $109.00 with probably an additional $100.00 install. The USB module price is still unknown, at least to me, but I can't imagine a usb cable costing more then $100.00 and I will probably just install this one myself. The trim kits will probably cost anywhere from $200-$800. Even If I use the highest amount that totals to only 1609.00 dollars. The difference between the 1SS and 2SS is $3185.

SO, what does this mean? it means that buy getting the 1SS vice the 2SS and dealing with not having the on star navigation, bluetooth, the radio controls on the steering wheel, AND the leather, which I didn't want anyway, that I am saving $1576.00.

Having said all that, is it worth to get the 1SS if you want leather but want to save money and add the leather later, NO. If you want leather then the 2SS is your cheapest bet by far. But, for those of us that don't actually want leather getting the 1SS should be a no brainer. I for one can live without the on star navigation, the bluetooth, and stereo controls on the steering wheel for $1576.00!!!!

Normally I'm leather all the way, but the cloth seats are very comfortable in the camaros. They're high quality cloth, which is the reason I'd say that if money is a little tight, I'd just go for that. I've never spent an extended amount of time in a car with cloth seats, though, so there might be a lot of disadvantages I don't know about.

I was going with a 1SS for the same reason, saw the cloth, and went with the 2SS. The leather is sharp. However, you can always upgrade to leather with the aftermarket kits available.

My thoughts

Went with 2SS leather, but after sitting in a cloth V6 Camaro for the first time yesterday, I may reconsider....

i agree with the above guys analysis of the options. They just dont add up. And your getting this loaded camaro, that can play an IPOD and answer phone calls, who cares. The idea of having more value down the road, well if you look at options on used cars they dont give you a lot more. You will probably be able to add 50 for the USB, 300 for leather etc.

I like leather, PK likes cloth, it's her car so we got the 1SS. cloth is fine, saved 3K right? Guys here will put leather in a car for about 1K so if she ever gives me the car years down the road that might be what I will do

I went with the 1SS mostly due to price but also opted out because of the leather. The too hot or too cold factor was a big reason. Also I want my dogs to be able to take a ride every once in awhile and would hate for them to scratch up the leather. Now if the 1SS came with the 4 gauge pack and ambient lighting I would be totally satisfied with my choice. Oh well, hopefully gmpp will have them avail soon.
