Ordering my ZL1, quick question....

You can't wax the AGM insert. You can wax the ECF insert. I have the AGM one but would have preferred the ECF one, which wasn't available at the time.

It should be a match. There are 2 different stripes for the ZL1, one for ECF and one for AGM insert.

I think you can wax the AGM as it just has a regular clear coat like the rest of the car. The reason you couldn't wax the flat black is because it would begin to gloss rather than be flat.

I have the AGM insert also and it is definitely clearcoated and definitely able to be waxed or polished.

Thank you GearHeadSS, I think I'll see about having the stripe pkg to match the AGM insert. Does anyone know if AGM stripe pkg is dealer or factory installed?

I have the stripe with the AGM and mine is a match. I can't find the pic, but one thing to remember is that if you are getting a sunroof the stripe won't be on the roof, only the trunk and spoiler. Oh yeah and you still will pay full price for the stripe. I found out the hard way. You should only have to pay half since you're getting half the stripe. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks Hercules. No sunroof for me. My option list: BRM, Auto, Bright Wheels, Suede Pkg. Nav. Stock insert(AGM), illuminate footwell (dealer installed). I don't want to change the order so I was hoping if I like the AGM stripe pkg to see if can be just dealer installed. Unless its a factory install. then I'll have to make a decision. Don't want to delay order. Hoping it comes in by Christmas.

Found the answer to my question, the option only adds the steering wheel and shifter. Stock comes with the suede inserts for seats and dash.

As another poster already mentioned, the stripe is factory installed.

Important to know that the roof-mounted shark fin antenna will be body-colored if no stripe, but will be dark grey if the stripe is ordered.
