PS be real specific and take notes - When does it happen five minutes after running - hard start then code - took car to 3500 RPM's and it shows up - these are examples only - If you can figure out a rhythm it helps tremendously.

Guys, keep in mind that just because you have a problem, which is unfortunate, doesn't mean everyone or even very many others will have that same problem.

As I've posted before, on average, the very best cars are just about 1 problem per car. Check JD Power and Associates. Most of you will not have a problem. Unfotunately, some of you will have something your dealer will need to work on to satisfy you.

The number of "I have a problem" threads is actually pretty small compared to the number of cars delivered.

It sucks your having a problem with your new car. I hope they can get it fixed quickly for you and you can enjoy your purchase. These things unfortunately are a problem with new models. My 97 had the rearend problem and I ditched it at 5150 miles rather than continue to put up with the bugs, I made a huge mistake. Stay strong. She will be 100% soon.

No offense but you definably need to find a different dealer with real Techs they don't know what they are doing fins a local dealer with a known Master diagnostic Tech who knows and can work with Tech support and you would see the difference. Have faith there are some real tech out there.

Wait... you posted earlier that you were allowing someone to use your car for R & D for turbos, why Blame GM... I think thats unfair. Unless of course, that has not occurred yet.

Just saying...

The same issues happen with every new car. There is just not many sites dedicated to typical cars like Toyota Tundras, Camary's etc. Both of those cars had far more serious issues when they were new or went through significant redesign.

Yea, my car was in R&D for techco superchargers and we were doing a baseline dyno and its not putting the horsepower down and the knock retard is going crazy. They haven't done anything yet, but measurements. Right after they fix my car, back to techco.

The problem is that the computer is retarding timing as much as 15 degrees as soon as you floor it. It runs fine and nothing is wrong until you floor it.

Did you already? If so, why blame GM...

If I have you confused.... disregard...

I haven't modded my car yet, techco was about to start, but then the problem appeared.

Damn,,, that sucks.... you have every reason to be upset... I guess I am not the type to let anyone touch my cars... (the whole R/D thing is not for me)
I hate anyone driving them, let alone touching... :(

Yea i know how you feel, i was like that with my Toyota supra. But techco are really cool people and they treat your car like its their own. I trust them alot and they take good care of me.

But yea it just pisses me off that its at the dealers getting fixed instead of getting screwed. (supercharged).

On the dyno. Just to be clear you know rear wheel HP is and was expected to be lower than the flywheel HP of the motor? Energy is used up in the drive train.

I was just wondering if that's where the original 100 HP disappeared too?

Understandably this is the first year so of course there are going to be teething issues. I'm an enthusiast that knows the industry well (not to boast) and better than most. I'm just saying that I know the media and others will go to town with the idea that even new GM cars are having problems (and they don't understand typical first MY problems) along with all the other negativity surrounding GM at the moment. Oh well, such spin is normal in our media. Unfortunately.

lol, dude this is not my first car lol, i have put alot of my other cars on dynos and know that i wont make 426 on the dyno stock. I believe its a 17% driveline loss.

But heres my case: my car made one good run on the dyno at 370 rwhp, but then each run before and after that would be around 320rwhp. And we would let it cool for a while before each run. Also the diagnostic computer shows retarding timing by 15 degrees. On some parts of the dyno graph i have 100rwhp loss from my good run. PLUS the check engine light comes on.

Even before i started to dyno the car, the check engine light came on just driving around and took it to dealer. They said might just be a fluke and bring it back if it comes back on again

Sorry if i sound mean, but just really frustrated right now. Im usually never like this.

Yea we were going to do that, but the code that was popping up told us the fix was changing out the faulty ECM.
