So the OP posts this and takes off without any proof or even a link to something. That's pretty lame.

I haven't seen either the 1LT or anything mentioning Z28. I'll double check today though. We did see the Gen 5 5.5L LS they ran in the C6Rs this past season.

Like I said, I've been looking. When I googled it, this thread was the only one talking about a Z28 at this years SEMA.

This is the only thing I could find on C7 General Discussion

The is a good LT1 thread on LS1 Tech. The bad news is the new Gen 5 motors are going to be very difficult to mod. The good news is the Gen 5 performance variants are going to have such good performance, mods will not be necessary. The gm guy said the new Z28 and an unnamed Corvette, will require potential buyers to take a driving class as part of the sale. He didnt give numbers but Im betting low/mid 700s for hp.

With the complexity of the new motors, it makes sense to discourage tampering. Most LS1 Tech members were down right hostile to the gm guy and threatened to buy Ford 5.0 motors in the future. Im not sure how much fun the new cars will be with stop/start, cylinder deactivation, etc. The gm guy was adamant that the LT1 ecm cannot be hacked as most of the OS is in the cloud. Any tampering with the ecm will result in warranty void, etc.

The after market will hate the Gen 5s, lol. Maybe the LS crate motors will live on with Gen 5s not sold as crates. Who knows!!
I'm currently searching LS1 Tech

I don't trust half of the nonsense that's spread on this site, not going to trust another site.

"The gm guy said..."

and what GM guy would that be? Some knuckle-dragging dealer from Gooberville Chevrolet?

When Fbod says it, I believe it.

no but it would have to be connected to a network to make changes or updates at the dealership. it would be like a work computer where you can use it but you cant install new programs only the administrator can via a network so basically it will be locked like the srt8 6.4 motors

I take that as a future Z/28, not one at SEMA. There's no doubt in my mind the Z/28 will be reborn. When, not if, is the question.
