I notice more people buy cars in March/April. Is there a reason, other than the weather is getting better?

Good weather helps also since most people that get snow really don't wanna go out and buy a new car especially a sports car when the weather is crap.

The Mustang's are lower on base price but the price starts rocketing on packages, look at the GT500 for example, sure 54k BASE, but if you want the 2 packages that give any traction ( if it can be called traction on that car ) you gotta throw down another 6.5k, where the ZL1 comes with that equipments equilivant base. Another example on the GT is if you want some decent Brembo brakes for the GT premium you pay another 1,700, the reverse sensing package ( standard on the 2SS ) cost another $700. Heated seats $650, standard on 2SS, touch screen radio ( standard in 2SS ) $2,340 for the GT. Putting a base 2SS with all those options at 37k flat, and a GT with the same options around 40.5k, seems cheap as first, BUT gets really pricy. Up to the Challenger price range.

Basically it comes down to 2 different marketing technique's Ford puts the base price lower with pricy options, Chevy basically includes everything with some other options which are normally not that expensive( except the wheels:( ).

I don't understand where the 2 packages on the GT500 are that are a must have to give traction? The track pack is basically a big cooling overhaul and the SVT pack gives you different springs, and dampers that don't really impact traction and a Torsen diff. that only improves road racing and is not recommended for drag.

You can order the track pack with a GT, it's around 2500 if I remember correctly and it comes with the Brembos and 19" wheels, 3.73 rear end, Boss oil cooler and Boss radiator , track apps screen...way more bang for your buck than the $1700 brembo option they like to push. They don't like to tell you that because the dealer is not allowed to order a GT with a track pac for regular stock. You will have to order the car yourself to get this.

I came real close to ordering a green base 2013 GT with the track pac. I had FORD down to $33,000 for this car, but they lost my business over $1000 and blew that "cash back" BS in my face "you never know what the rebate will be" blah blah.

So I got another Camaro and glad I did, that green Mustang doesn't look good in some light, that would be my only complaint I know it's a great car.

These kinds of numbers are always interesting...cutting through the hype to the real facts. The Camaro and the Mustang are great cars, fun to drive. As a Mustang owner I think Mustang seem more common because the 2005-2010 don't look that much different than the 2011-13's. The Mustang has an advantage on price except with the new 1LE. (which is a great value) Can you tell that I'm thinking of trading in my Stang for a Camaro ss with the 1LE package?
