You must have MAIF as your insurance provider.
They were hitting me for $336 a month for my 350Z a few years back.

BUT lets all take pride in the fact that if we owned a PT cruiser, our insurance would be even higher! cause they would have to pay the life insurance if there were a fender bender..

I got quoted for when I buy my camaro. I'm 23 with a decent corporate job, no tickets, 2 accidents in past 5 years. I was quoted at $1250/year (Allstate) for a 2ss convertible. That is also pre-multicar discount and other discounts.

Look things up before you buy...... I'm 25, with all state, self-employed, the SS is under my own company's name and has commercial insurance, which is about $1000/ year, the same as a V6. My friend has a Subaru STI with all state, and it is the same charge as a Legacy or a WRX...... somehow Allstate only go by car basic models instead of engine trim level.

after all my discounts with Allstate, I'm paying 860 a year for the SS. It was slightly less when I had the v6. As ps2ren said, Allstate doesn't look at 1LS or SS. I'm pretty sure my rate only went up because of the year of the car. I'm 24, married (my wife is only months younger than I), and get the following discounts:

Quote:

Allstate Easy Pay Plan
Safe Driving Club [ 2 qualified driver(s) ]
Multiple Policy
Responsible Payer

The following discount(s) apply to Vehicle # 2: 2013 Chevrolet Camaro
New Car
Electronic Stability Control
So for my daily beater Corolla and my Camaro, I'm paying $1,300 a year (this includes roadside assistance and all that nice extra jazz)

Yup, I'm pretty sure they only go by the base cost of the car instead of trim level. I went from a V6 to a certified V8 also and the price remained exactly the same since the difference on the actual car value is very small.

Allstate also does not have in-house commercial auto, but the info they pass onto 3rd party company still won't specify the engine trim of the car...... which is very good for the V8s and the turbo4/6s in the world

An 18 male and no job who wants a SS is the highest risk driver there is. Not saying the OP is high risk but your peers are. The insurance company actuaries blessed you as a high risk driver in a high risk car. Every time someone posts "I wrecked my Camaro" insurance goes up a notch for all. This ZL1 had less than 300miles.
$13,000 annual policy premium is synonymous with "pay to play".
When I was 18, I drove a '66 VW Bug.
