So should I just wait until Christmas and get some headers? I like my Flowmaster 40s But they are not nearly as loud as the 40 I had on my Silverado....

I removed the resonator and had straight pipe to my flowmaster American thunder mufflers. Loved it

Now I am confused haha
I knew I would get mixed answers as always on this website but I don't want to cut it off and then it not pass SMOG or the drone be even worse!

I have the corsa exhaust and I have an l99 so it has a resonator. I'm going to install headers with high flow cats next week and I am debating on if I should remove the resonator or not. How loud do you think it will be with the resonator on, or will it still be quiet when the headers go on?

I agree.. Or reinstall resonator. I kept mine just in case.

If you plan on keeping the AFM/DOD on your L99, keep the center resonator or you'll end up with the AFM drone.

If you tune out AFM and/or get an LS3 conversion, then get an X pipe after that.

I will suggest to leave your resonator on at first. You just might be happy with the new loudness. I do not think you car will be quiet with them on after headers. Although even with headers it is not loud inside the car at idle or just cruising around. Push on the gas some and then it gets loud. (More on the gas, = more loud) I had the corsa resonators on my car before headers, then had the resonators removed because I wanted more sound. I had an exhaust shop modify the xo pipe assy. They cut off the resonators leaving the forward xo part and added straight stainless pipe to it. It did not increase the sound near as much as I was expecting. Since then I have added headers. And it is plenty loud now. Sometimes I wonder what it would have sounded like with the corsa resonators on. So if you leave them on for now, you can always remove them later. It would be nice to find someone with the LS3 xo pipe assy for sale so you could swap them without any cutting or welding. I could not find one at the time I modified mine.

Yes, definitely plan on getting a tune or updating your tune if you already have a tune.

That would be great if someone was selling that but I have not found anyone who is selling them. I think I'm gonna remove the resonators because I don't want to go back and re tune it or anything. I just want to get everything done in one shot. I have heard a lot of people that its not that loud until you step on it so I will be fine with it.

Taking it to Torq in Miramar. They are going to remove it and replace it with straight pipes after they install the headers with high flow cats. Then im going to have them tune it.

Are you going to have any crossover of any sort. X or H pipe?

There is an x pipe right before the resonator. I dont know if they are going to keep that x pipe or put a completely new one.
