Hey the 2010's passenger seat didn't even have power forward and back so they have made improvements and updates but I believe that they just couldn't do memory with the current hardware and changing it would be out of the question. Keep in mind it shares some of it's components with the G8 and Holden Commodore. At least at the platform level. With the SS Performance Sedan coming next year and said to have a premium price tag they might be able to squeak in memory seats using a component from that and letting it help absorb the costs. guess we'll see.

My guess would be they leave stuff out so they can add to future models, its not huge, but you add several features and it adds up.

you put out base models, everyone buys the car who just wants the car, next year you add some features to draw all those that were just on the side of not getting it to pull them over the top, repeat year after year....

Why do you think it took them so long to but a touchscreen nav in the car when cars that cost 15k had them years ago.....

to be fair consumers have been programmed to do this without thinking....how many people traded in thier camaros to get the '13 simply because of mylink? there were numerous waiting for it.

I read a book of the making of the 5th generation. GM decided that the car would sell for a certain price, I beleive 40 000$ at the most and that they had to decide to cut off some luxary options to meet their goal. They did it and now they are improving it.

If you have your seat set where you want it get a paint pen and put a mark on the stationary seat track where the front edge of the movable part sits, or another convenient point. Then when you have to move it you will have a point to move it back to. Home made memory seat!

Like oachalon said, the car already has certain modules which could probably be modified to add certain features.
Anyways, I don't know why I complain if I don't have a Camaro yet...
So the guy who doesn't own a Camaro is trying to compare a Chevy Camaro to a Benz? This isn't funny to anyone else?

I've had many cars with memory seats, mirrors, radio presets and so on, and most of them quit working at one point or another. They are nice if you have more than one person driving a car when they work.

When GM was deciding what features to add at X price points. I bet memory seats wasn't very high on the list at all.

A Mercedes owner and my wife expects these things. Most Camaro owners do not.

I know it only pertains to me. But, when i picked up mine from the dealer. On the 70 mile drive home my wife wanted to play with all the buttons and gadgets and stuff. Asked me, how come i didn't look at any of that stuff when we picked it up. Her words "you opened the hood, laid on the ground and looked under it and that's it" Asked me how the stereo worked blah blah. I responded with who cares and god this exhaust has to go.

My pet peeves on day 1.
Exhaust too quiet
AFM

My wifes pet peeves day 1
Too bumpy
Too hard to see
No lighted vanity mirror
mirror too tiny
No adjustable passenger seat
too hot / too cold
poor cupholders
no cupholders in the back
heavy doors
seat angle is too much
too small of trunk opening
no spare tire
no bluetooth
no ipod hookup
no audio controls on wheel
too loud?????????

You get the point. I drive it daily. She has driven 2 times for less than 1 mile total in two years. I am very happy. She is less than impressed. However she still thinks it's the sexiest car on the road.

I wish the driver seat did have memory but i wouldn't use it that much. I rarely move my seat up for maybe vacuuming behind and under the drivers seat. If Chevy did offer one as a paid option i doubt i would of ever have bought it.

Didn't want or need any of those things lol. I traded a fully loaded CTS in on it. That had all that stuff and more. Don't miss any of it.

It's all margin and greed. There are plenty of cars out there for a lot less $$ than my 2SS that come with push button start/ keyless entry, memory seats, lights on the vanity mirror, auto tilt mirrors when in reverse, lights in the glove box, etc. I love the look and the HP but GM is way off target with their thinking on the creature comforts. These things are just not that expensive and a $45k car should have them. Excess weight is a cop out...it's circuitry and logic on an already existing circuit board.

I bought my daughter a 2013 Hyundai for $17.6k (out the door) and it has everything option except leather and sunroof...even Bluetooth. The only way to get Bluetooth in a Camaro is buying the top of the line v6 or v8. That is petty BS.
